We have a wedding to go to and there will be a little walking from one place to another. I don't want to walk in heels too far because I have a pain in my toe from time to time. So I plan on wearing flats to walk and changing into the heels for the ceremony and reception. My purse is big enough to hide them. Do you do this too?

I say go for it. I once rolled up a pair of jeans in a purse because we were eating at a nice restaurant for dinner, then hitting a bar for live music afterwards. If I can hide jeans, you can surely stash a pair of shoes to stay comfortable!

Yes. Always for weddings. I don't even put them in my purse I carry them into the reception and place them under the table. However I have a pair of Gold ballet flats that i got from the gap and they came in their own little pouch so I just carry those in that when they match the dress. I don't have pain but after 2 hours of dancing I need flats and I don't want my bare feet on the dance floor.

Dr. Schols makes a purse pair as well.

All the time!! I have an addiction to very high shoes but my poor feet can't take long walks in them so I shove flip-flops in my bag and slip those on to walk to and from the car.

I don't do it, but a lot of women do it in the city. They wear comfortable shoes to & from the office, then change into heels while at work.

This is me. I work in NYC and have to take the train, then two different subways, then walk a few blocks. Trust me, I'm doing the subway/walk in Croc Malindi's (winter/fall/spring) or flip flops (summer) and switching to my nice but not super comfortable shoes at work.

I don't but my mom does. I just try to never wear unconfortable shoes. I wear flats mostly or very low-heeled shoes.

When I do wear my heels, there isn't much walking.

i do this a lot. whenever i have to wear dress shoes, i usually wear flip flops or keds until i get to where i'm going, then put on my dress shoes before i get out of the car. once i'm back in the car, the dress shoes are off and my comfy shoes are back on! i usually leave the pair of shoes i'm not wearing in the car.

No I don't, and I don't carry big purses so it wouldn't work for me but I do think it's a great idea!! :thumbsup2

The last wedding I was in, the bride bought us all some slipper like flats for dancing. They were cute and soft and had non skid bottoms we all had a great time. They matched our hideous bridemaid dresses.

I always bring some flats for later. If you don't need em great, but if you do, you will be glad they are there.

One time I wore Crocs to a reception. I put my heels away after the wedding. I did it to show them off. It was when Crocs first came out and no one had really seen them before. :lmao:

I usually don't because I typically don't wear high heels. But if I were in the situation you described, I wouldn't think twice about it. Take the flats!

Yes, I do! :)

Yes for weddings. They are an all day/night affair in my family, and with the type of shoes I wear, I can last maybe 8 hours, then I'm switching to something lower.:thumbsup2

It worked great! The wedding was near the White House and I wore the flats to and from the hotel. We stopped in a park where I changed shoes on a bench right before we went in. Luckily, I was able to wear the heels all night long. Then I changed back to walk back to the hotel. I also was able to check my bag so I wasn't lugging that huge purse around with me the whole night.

Later in the evening, back at the hotel a woman took off her heels (while riding in the elevator) and said "I think I can finally take these off" and I told her mine were in my purse. She loved that idea! :)

You betcha!!!

I always have flats, heels & sneakers stashed in my car. You never know.
