Ladies... Dark hair on upper lip??

I wax them at home... I use Sally Hansen wax strips, you just warm them in your palm... super easy - and cheap! You can even cut the strips to fit the spot easier. I use it for upper lip, chin, and brows...

Good luck in finding a great method!

Hillbeans....the 'shaving causes hair to become thicker and more coarse' is a myth. Ask any gynecologist. Hair which is very soft and fine will come back very soft and fine. Hair which is dark and coarse will come back dark and coarse. Simply shaving the skin has nothing to do with the genetics and hormones which cause the hair in the first place. If it was simple enough to do something on the outer layer of skin which would affect the actual cause of the problem, no one would be answering on the thread.....no one would have a problem.

I shave every AM -- takes me two seconds. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Tried bleach in h.s. and my upper lip got a major burn, beet red. Talk about embarrassing. Hair removal did the same thing. I don't get the waxing, don't you have to let it grow out then??

*whew* Glad I'm not the only nutty girl shaver too! LOL

It's SO easy and I use the razors from the dollar store...10 for a buck! Two, MAYBE three short swipes in an upward stroke and I'm done.......

I'm 16 and I've been getting mine waxed for almost a year now. Waxing is just so easy because every time you go back, it's lighter and lighter. Soon it gets to baby fine hair and you can barely tell its even there. Baby fine hair is just fine with me.

So I'm not alone? Dark, ugly, coarse hair - must be hormones changing as it's been a problem for the past few years now. YUK! I think I'll try the Veet cream hair removal product again. It worked well on my legs, but I need something stronger (like maybe one of the men's products) for my chin. I use one of those personal trimmers for my lip and face, but by chin is beyond help.

I'm curious...to those who shave or use Nair/Veet. When the hair comes back does it come back like a beard or is it still fine? I just have visions of shaving your lip or face and looking like you have a 5 o'clock shadow after awhile. I have seen the facial trimmers like emjoi and would like to try them but I'm afraid. So I continue to wax.

The easiest, cheapest and least painful method I know is to swab with peroxide twice a day with a cotton ball. Bleaches it completely. I do that and then use one of those $10 tiny battery operated razors that are all over tv right now. Works perfectly.

Hey I didn't know anyone knew about threading. I have used it and liked it (although you are right it does hurt a little) but I can't find anyone that can do it anymore. The lady that used to do it moved. I use the Remington epilitor on my legs and underarms and also my face. It works great and I am noticing that I am getting less and less hair. The only thing is that the middle of the lip (you know the crease) is a little sensitive but it is just a little area so it doesn't take long to do. Boy it is nice to know that I am not the only one out there besides my Mum & I. I just hope though that when I get old and can't see the hair my kids will let me know and help me get rid of it.

I know we're discussing facial hair here, but just a word of caution--think two or three times about using cold wax strips on the bikini area.

If you do, make sure to put a strip on one side first--just to be certain you can handle the pain.
