Ladies and Gentleman this will be the new promotion for 2013,

Just noticing this discount now in the middle of the night. I sent an email to my TA (close friend) so I should know something in the morning.

We are going May 8-13 and were booked with the play, stay and dine.

Right now I am booked at movies and it looks like it is excluded. Is that really true??? I'm so bummed. My daughter is 2 and would have loved it.

So I said (in the email) that I'd take music since music and movies were the same price back when I booked. But now I'm thinking Pop Century instead if its the same price as music.

I was originally at Movies when I called, but the discount was nothing. Like, 6%. I switched to Music and saved just over 20%. The CM told me Pop had discounts too but it still worked out more expensive than Music.

The $1400 was before the discount :yay: When I priced it online it came to around $1430, and the first CM I got priced it as $1470 then took off about $85 as the discount, so I was definitely confused. I called back a second time and got a discounted price of $1190

Just me going on a solo trip - 8 nights/9 days at ASMu with 9 day park hoppers. Not too shabby for 9 days at WDW, I'm definitely happy with the price!

 great savings! Congrats!!!!

Danny25--Thank you so much for the heads up on this info---I had been following along to this thread ever since you posted your info. I know your track record from free dining in the past, so I never doubted you! :)

I was able to book POP for 7 nights/7 day base tix for just four of us---all Disney "adults"---for $2059. :thumbsup2

Just curious on the cancelation policy for this deal and when payment is due. Is this promo considered a package deal when you buy the tickets and book a resort? We want to stay at Port Orleans Riverside for 6 days and then Beach Club for 4 days and buy 10 day parkhopper tickets. We usually just book the resort with Disney and buy tickets from Undercover Tourist. We pay a deposit for the resort and then pay the rest when we arrive. How does it work with this promo? Thanks

If you get the discounted tickets with this promo, it becomes a package, paid 45 days prior to arrival.

I'm absolutely amazed by all the posts of people waiting on hold for 60, 90, and 120 minutes. Anything longer than 10 minutes for me and my business goes elsewhere. This is why I wait for the deal I'm prepared to book to come out first and then book it online, takes 2 minutes and done. Seems so simple, not sure what I'm missing?

I'm extremely happy that both of my calls were answered quickly and I was able to apply the discount to our existing reservation. My call took less than 30 minutes and we saved $637.

I have looked through many posts so sorry in advance if I missed this but has anyone gotten the price of their tickets separate from their room reservation. Just curious because I am paying about $100 more for 2A and 2C 7 day base tickets than what is shown on the first post. It says $253 for an adult, $237 for a child which comes to $980. I'm paying $1,078 dollars for tickets which is still a discount but not by much. Did the price not include taxes though I thought it said it did? With so much confusion with this new discount, I just want to make sure I'm getting the best discount. TIA:)

I get that. They already had your business and the 30 minutes was for you to save the $637.

I won't book the trip until I get the deal I want. For me the Rack Rate that you had booked originally is overpriced and I wouldn't pay it to go back to WDW, so I wouldn't have that reservation to begin with. To be honest the current discount you have booked is probably half of the value of a FD package for your family and I probably wouldn't pay that price either. But as long as your happy with the price thats all that matters for your family.

I don't think people understand that as the consumer shopping in a competive market like this one they hold the power. Where that breaks down is being to emotionally attached to one thing like WDW. WDW is our first choice in most cases, but we are willing to go elsewhere if we don't think the price is fair. To compare apples to apples, you can book a room at Royal Pacific or Hard Rock on property at Universal with their "stay more save more" package that gets you a Hotel that is as nice or nicer than any of the WDW Deluxe resorts for the price of a WDW Mod resort.

At anyrate, we are quite happy with booking at a CSR with FD and find that fair. As long as they offer that deal next December I'm sure we'll be back. I f they don't, probably go somewhere else. The current deal in this thread works out to substancially less value for my family and probably isn't good enough to earn our business.

WDW knows their rack rate is overpriced, its part of their marketing strategy. They overprice and then when they offer a "deal" everyone comes running and thinks they got a "smokin" price. But the reality is that the "deal" just brings the price closer to market value. It is a good strategy on their part and works quite well for the most part. I personally don't care whether I'm getting a "discount" its about getting what I consider a fair price. That may or may not involve a discount. But I won't wait on hold for a ridiculous amount of time to give someone "my" business. They need to earn my busniess. If more people realised this the prices would come down quickly!! :lmao:;)

I have always done mine on line in the past, but this year I had to book 3 ressies for my family, DSIL's family, and MIL. I wanted to make sure they were properly connected ressies...

Lucily, I have not had any long waits on the phone.

Oh I absolutely do realize that free dining would be a much better offer for us. The one and only time we were able to take advantage of free dining in May, it saved us $1,500. I'd jump on that sort of deal again like white on rice. :thumbsup2 :rotfl:

For our family, a trip to Disney, even at rack rate, is what works best for us. While it's not a "smoking" good deal but we definitely get our money's worth out of a Disney trip. I've priced out other vacation destinations and, again, for our family, we get the most bang for our buck at Disney.

I agree with you that a hold time of 3 or 4 hours is way too long.

I am wondering the same thing. I also had them price it out separately because I didn't think I was getting a discount on my tickets. Like you I am paying a little over $100.00 more for my tickets than what is shown on the first post. I was debating if I should call back and talk to someone else.

I'm going to try to book myself online when it opens up on the 3rd so I can compare the costs. If there is a difference I will call and cancel the one I did yesterday. The CM was confused enough, so I just took the discount...which was good, but now that I am thinking about it, I believe it comes to 30% off the pretax package price. Was it supposed to be 30% off the resort AND a discounted tix price or just 30% off the package total? I know the % varies on date and resort, but ours was 30% according to the ad I saw.

We saved a bit over $1300 for 8 nights at BCR GV and 8 day base tix....
Our tix would usually cost around $1500 so basically it was buy your resort and get almost free ($200 total) park tickets. Not too bad I guess.

Oh that is a very good idea, doing it online on the 3rd and comparing the cost before calling back. I think I will do the same thing!

If you could book the promo online in 2 minutes, everyone would be doing it - you have to call if you want the promo. People can certainly wait until the call volume has died down and the deal has been out a while, but then they're likely also out of promo rooms. It's like the people that line up for the new iPhone, there's not enough to go around and people are willing to wait. Some people maybe say they'll take their business elsewhere and get a different phone, and that's fine, but maybe the people who really want the iPhone are happy to wait. I'd think the majority of people on here see WDW as their first choice for their vacations, and sitting on hold for a long time to save hundreds or even thousands seems worth it to me, particularly when you can just put the phone on speaker and get on with something else like I did. Some families couldn't afford their dream vacation at all without some kind of promo deal and so waiting is no issues. Plus, I think the 1hr+ holds were rare and more a phone glitch than anything else, plenty people got done in 30 or 40 mins.

On Jan. 3rd you will be able to book online in two minutes.

but the resort/room you want may be sold out by then

Not even close. They only alot a small number of rooms for the VISA promo, once those are taken that's it for the VISA promo. They don't dip into the rooms that are allotted for the public offer. In truth the VISA offer is a waste of time other than getting points because they always make the offer public a week or two later and usually with a wider variety of rooms to choose from.
