Lack of BWV Resales

What's up with the lack of BWV resales? The TS has three listed, two are pending...only a handful on Fidelity. What have I missed?

There were lots more earlier in the year, but the inventory has seemingly dried up. Summer can be slow for DVC sales, so you may have to just wait things out. And if you haven't already, contact your broker and let them know what you're looking for. Sometimes contracts are matched up with buyers before they are ever listed on the Web site.

We have purchased three resales from the sponsor of this board. I have contacted our salesperson, regarding our interest, but was told..they don't do that. Maybe, I should contact another broker.

I found that Fidelity had more contracts available than were listed online. Maybe you could call Sharon or Rachel there.

I've made offers on 4 contracts using Sharon at Fidelity, and none of those ever hit their site. She called me each time, knowing I was serious and those contracts met my criteria.

Fidelity effectively has reciprocal agreements with other brokers. Thus the "more contracts available than were listed online". I don't know how many. I just know they have several other brokers that can access their inventory (and receive partial commission) and vice-versa. Similiar to the mls process with listing and selling homes.

I just know they have several other brokers that can access their inventory (and receive partial commission) and vice-versa. Similiar to the mls process with listing and selling homes.

Just a thought but I feel the recent renovations have helped BWV tremendously. Before that, BWV was the most bashed resort. Since the refurb it has drawn accolades. With a more satisfied customer comes more sales. Just my theory...

Fidelity only updates their site on tuesday and friday night, so anything that comes in on monday sits for 2 days and anything that comes up wed, thur, of friday will not be posted until friday nite and then they are not open until monday. I called them to make an offer and the contract was gone, rachel then went throught tthe inventory that had not been posted yet and i made me deal then and there.

I've worked with Sharon at Fidelity as well and have had her send me BWV listing. I've been able to pick up a number of BWV contracts in the last couple of months.

Just passed ROFR on one BWV contract yesterday, have another that was sent to ROFR on May 21st and another BWV contract that is just about to go to ROFR.

I know someone that just closed on a Fidelity listing through another broker within the last two weeks so that would be a very recent change.

I should correct myself, in the past I was told that all listings were readily available, now Fidelity is taking first position and picking and choosing which contracts to keep for themselves. They also don't seem to be as responsive to other Brokers like they were in the past.

I know from my experience from a year ago that they were hard to get a hold of, they charged a extra fee of $175 and weren't very good at returning calls. They were also under contract with Disney to sell their resale contracts. Maybe that's no more.

We sure do love our BWV stays. I'm glad we have all the points we need there. If you don't want to stay in the std view or BW view rooms, owning another resort will probably be okay--except during F&W time.
