How is Labor Day at the parks? Is it one of the holidays with increased traffic. We were planning on going 9/10-9/18, but Josh's Sept calendar has the week before (9/3-9/10), which includes Labor Day very similar in terms of crowds. I originally was planning on avoiding Labor Day, but if it's pretty much the same, I'd rather go that week for 2 reasons. Wishes & MSEP are offered on 9/4 and the kids would only miss 4 days of school vs 5 days. Thanks!

In our experience, while the Sun. before LD can be a little busy, LD itself and especially the days after are pretty low crowds. Having said that I've never been the full week after LD, so not sure how much lower they may be, but the week of LD is not bad at all.

I was looking into going 9/12-9/20 and just googled how busy is it around Labor Day and the 6 sites I visited to get the answer all concluded that the week after is actually a "low" crowd time. But who truly knows until you are there for yourself..

This is awesome news! I think I'll move my trip up a week!! :D THANK YOU

Hot and humid! Be prepared.

We love this time of year....went two years in a row. Low crowds! But high humidity and mid-day rain is expected.

Oh...I know the weather. We go in Sept every time...we've just never gone Labor Day week. Thanks though!

We went this past year from the Friday before Labor Day to the Tuesday after. On actual Labor Day we did 4 parks in one day and only DHS was crowded because it was the last day of Frozen Summer Fun. Otherwise the crowd levels were great compared to April and October - the other months we went last year. Here's a link to our video playlist for that stay so you can see firsthand what it was like. Day 2 is Friday, Day 6 is the Tuesday after Labor Day. (Day 1 was just an arrival day on Thursday, did not go to the parks). The four parks in one day is on Labor Day and it's day 5 in the videos.

We always go the week before and through Labour Day weekend and the crowds are low until Friday when they do rise (still not crazy busy) through the weekend. We always leave on Labour Day Monday, so I can't comment on the crowds during that week, but from everything I have read it drops off pretty significantly and even lower than the week I'm there, which are pretty low crowds.

I think if you went the 9/3 - 9/10, you may have some crowds to leave with on the first day, but you'll be golden after that.

PeasandCarrots, your videos are awesome! You and your husband are so cute! I am going to be watching this the rest of the day, and not working. Thank you!
We are going labor day weekend as well, and this is very encouraging!

Visited right after Labour Day for 5 days in 2013. It was a ghost town, especially Magic Kingdom and Epcot. The first day we visited MK there were only a handful of people for rope drop.

It felt like there were more CMs than guests. There were some moments when we saw no other guests in front of us, especially at the SM/BTMRR area.

But please be aware that a crowd calendar's light crowd in 2013 is not a todays light crowd. Days that are considered as low crowd in 2016 would have been considered as moderate crowds back then.

You should be fine the week after Labour Day, this is still considered to be one of the least crowded days for the whole year.

Last year Aug 29 - Sept 10 -- the two weeks surrounding Labor Day Weekend.

1st week was most definitely more crowded than 2nd week.

We spent Friday before labor day at MK. It was more crowded than the prior Wednesday, but still easy. We spent Thursday before labor day and then Saturday of labor day weekend at AK. The difference in the crowd was shocking. You NEEDED FP on Saturday. The walkways were difficult to manuver. We had dinner at Rain Forest then hopped to MK for the parade. We got there around 730pm. I stood in a seriously 20 minute FP kiosk line only to find that there was nothing left that we were interested in. (no mountains, HM, JC, Buzz, PP, Ariel) So we just sat down for the parade and people watched because we were too tired to bother with lines. Despite how crowded it seemed, we could have walked up at 840 in frontierland and sat down with lots of places to choose. The park closed at 12am with extra hours until 2am. It was strange. It felt like people were everywhere, but doing NOTHING. Most rides had very little wait. We did splash mountain over and over, lots of Buzz. At 12:00am we left Tomorrowland and headed to just see what the Anna & Elsa line was like - -we did have FP for later in the week, but the posted time was 20 minutes, the CM said 10 minutes and she was right. 10 minutes to see Anna & Elsa! We jumped into the Cinderella and Rapunzel line and that actually took longer - -15-20 minutes. Still, less than 1/2 hour for us to see all 4 was awesome.

Those hours are not posted for this September, but I sure hope it changes.

I can't answer about Sunday as we used that as a rest day and did laundry & DTD - -which was too crowded for me. Monday we went to Typhoon lagoon and had a pretty easy day -- kids went on everything lots and lots of times. I don't think any line was over 10 minutes.

The week after labor weekend was noticeably less crowded that the week before.

One thing to note, all of my trips since 2008 have been in September, so I can only compare the crowds to other Septembers, not to an actually crowded time of year. I can say that Disney in September is more crowded now that when I first started my September trips.

We used to go on Labor Day weekend when we lived in Florida (2006-2012). It was always super, super quiet - popular rides in MK were a walk on. There would be cast members out front inviting you to ride because there was no line! That and the week before Thanksgiving week were our favorite quiet times to visit WDW.

Thank you so much! :-)

I just booked Sept 4th - 9th after reading that it's one of the slowest times to visit (if you don't mind heat and rain and possibly a hurricane:guilty:). We are so excited since we didn't think we'd be going till next Oct.

(if you don't mind heat and rain and possibly a hurricane:guilty:)

We've gone every trip in September and this is always my fear!! We've been SOOOOO lucky (knock on wood), but we've always had amazing weather. SUPER hot, yes, but like NO rain. Which is crazy for that time of year. And, no hurricane. Hopefully, that streak continues!!! :sunny:

Last year we went the Sunday before through the Friday after labor day. The crowds immediately after labor day were noticeably lower than the last few years when we had gone in late September.

Also, last year was incredibly dry and hot. Only one rainstorm, mid 90s every day
