Labor Day weekend crowds?

I just realized a mini trip I have planned is during Labor Day weekend. I've never gone to Disney on a holiday before. Is it really busy during this weekend? I was at Disney the week leading up to Memorial day weekend, but left before the actual weekend. Are the crowds similar? We will be going into the parks that Sunday and Monday.

I waited 50 minutes for Nemo ride at 11:00am on Sunday of Labor Day weekend last year. Mostly it was stupidity. The posted wait had not been changed. Having never seen an actual line for Nemo, I didn't realize how long the line was until it would have been difficult to get out of it.

The days preceding and following Labor Day weekend are great. I can't compare it to other holidays because I haven't been to WDW on other holidays. My understanding is that compared to super crowded holidays, Labor Day weekend fares well. However, it is not EMPTY. I would say it is moderately crowded. We hopped over to MK after Epcot that Sunday. We were able to get FP for things like the Carpets, Buzz, IASW after our scheduled FP+. We watched shows while waiting for FP window to open up rather than getting in long standby lines. Then it rained, the park emptied out, and the rest of the evening the lines were a walk on - -I'd say from 8pm until closing. We saw the 2nd Electrical parade, 1st was canceled, so I guess the park closed at 12am.

For the past several years, the park hours at MK get extended on Labor Day weekend. Right now, closing is at 9pm. Last few years they added EMH evening hours to Saturday, and extended park hours on both Saturday and Sunday.

I'm hoping for lower crowds than Columbus Day weekend, which has been our regular holiday WDW weekend and is pretty crazy. I think it should be around a 5 - 7, instead of an 8 - 10.

It was quite reasonable last year. Of course, the day after Labor Day feels like they pulled the plug and drained the entire park. It was great.

Yay that's great! I didn't even realize the holiday was that weekend until yesterday and I mentioned it to my boyfriend and he's like oh we can stay an extra day then :) Original plan was just going up for one night to have dinner at Victoria and Albert's with my parents. This is working out well lol.

We have found that Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend are very crowded but still manageable and Labor Day itself is the least crowded of the 3 days, but still crowded. This is not scientific, just from my observations! The week following is awesome. One of our favorite times to go.

The only thing that I would be slightly worried about that is different this year is Food & Wine starting earlier. Not sure how much that will impact the Epcot crowds on the holiday weekend, but I would probably expect it to.

Probably won't go to Epcot this trip. At the end of September we are staying at the Yacht club so it'll be easier to go to it then.
