Was curious about something...My wife and I are will be visiting WDW Labor Day Weekend, bringing my Sister-in-law and her boyfriend for their first trip. My wife and I have been on other holiday periods, and have kind of found the crowds to be hit or miss. I was wondering if anyone visited the parks in '08 around this weekend, and if so, would mind sharing their experiences with the crowds. We visit Disney annually around Christmas, so are aware of "totally nuts" crowds, but having visited on Easter, Halloween, Veteran's Day, and Memorial Day, we were curious as to how Labor Day compared.

Labor Day weekend is not anywhere near the nutz level. It's crowded, but not unmanagable, not near the level of Easter/4th of July weeks. If you've dealt with the crowds during other holiday periods it won't seem too bad.

Saturday night and all day Sunday of the holiday weekend are the most crowded. On the holiday itself the parks empty out by mid day as most families are flying home. The days after the holiday are really light.

We have been a couple of times on Labor day weekend, before kids. It is a great time to go. The weekend before the holiday is a little crowded, but labor day it is pretty much empty.

The last time we went we stayed at CBR and I went to to pool bar at 12:00. I asked Mike who worked there were everyone was and he said that 4500 people had checkout. I could not believe it there was no one around the pool. The rest of the week we had to parks to our selves. Wait times < 20 minutes on each ride, we pretty much just walked on. This is one of the slower times.

We have been every Labor Day weekend since Free Dining started in 2005 and it is nowhere near the level of crowded as most holidays. Found it to be about on scale with a normal summer weekend crowd. There will be lines on saturday and sunday, but by monday things will start to clear out as folks leave by plane or in cars. Some people do go to the parks on monday before they leave, but by tuesday the parks are wonderfully uncrowded.

A previous poster said a bartender told her they had a huge amount of check outs that day. I remember once our room was really late almost 5pm being done at Pop on Labor Day and they said it was due to the massive checkouts.
