I just returned from WDW last night after being there since Friday (9/1). I was at Magic Kingdom yesterday (Labor Day) and was surprised how uncrowded it was. The lines for all the major rides ranged from 5-15 minutes. I was pleasantly surprised.

This was my first trip to WDW during the Labor Day holiday. Is this normal for the parks to be uncrowded on Labor Day??

Just wondering if that's a perfect time to go since the kids will be back at school that week. I know just a few days prior to Labor Day it may still be crowded but I was wondering if you arrived the night before Labor Day or if you arrive on Labor Day and stay that week, I'm assuming the crowds would be low. Is that a correct assumption???

We have done WDW twice during that time frame. Once the week before and right up to Labor Day, and once starting with Labor Day for a week after. Both times were relatively quiet in terms of crowds.

This used to be one of our favorite times to visit because the crowds were so nice. Just an example....we were there 8/5---8/17 and the crowds were pretty big. The line for EE at 8:45 am was an hour long (non EMH day). The crowds really do start to drop off the end of August into Sept.
Anyway, because of my husband's job, we can no longer go during that time period and I miss it terribly. Glad u had a nice stay !

We had an unexpected night at WDW last year after the Members Cruise, maybe Sept. 6th or 7th. We went to MGM and it was very uncrowded. We were able to walk into the Brown Derby and get seated immediately! It actually was chilly (a bit) as we went swimming, but I guess that's not always the case in early September.

Everytime we've gone during Sept it's been hot as heck....has always been swimming weather. The crowds have always been nice as well. It used to be like this in Oct, but that month has gotten alot busier.

I just got back last night too.. went from 09/01-09/04-- Epcot was wonderful on Saturday.. We were able to walk on every ride except Soarin which we did get a Fastpass for.. It rained for a short time while we were in Worldshowcase and that emptied it even more.. Sunday we went to MK.. It was actually pretty crowded but the lines werent bad at all.. we walked up to many rides with little or no wait.. once it started getting crowded we went back to hotel and laid down for a bit and went back before Spectromagic.. It was very crowded as everyone was wanting to watch.. we stayed for EMH and again walked up on most rides.. The only ride we had to wait in line for was Peter Pan.. we were told it would be 30 minutes, but I think it was actually 20.. Yesterday we attempted to go to AK.. it was pretty crowded.. we were so tired we decided to ride a few rides, go to Rainforest Cafe for lunch and headed to DTD...

I went last year on LaborDay weekend and it wasnt bad at all.. Ive been at busier times.. It was actually pretty nice this time..

Just got back this evening. We actually went down on 8/29 in the evening since the airline issued a waiver because of Ernesto. However, it only rained mostly on Wednesday evening. The crowd level was low but increased slightly as the Labor Day holiday approached.

I think the last week in May and now late August, early September will be the months that we will take our trips. Just love the low crowd level

I went to Universal Studios on Monday and both parks had very light crowds. Every ride was pretty much a walk on. I think the longest we waited was 5 minutes for Dueling Dragons at IOA.

My guess is that Monday was a travel day for most people returning home.

We just returned this evening also and had a wonderful times, crowds were really manageable over Labor Day weekend and today was great!! Today was a walk on for us on every major ride at Epcot and MGM. I highly recommend this time of year to go, as usual it was great.

Some rain over last few days but mostly just showers..no complaints and Ernesto did not mess with my vacation at all...thankfully... :sunny:
