Well, this may have been asked before but I have a family member who are finally going to WDW and Labor Day weekend plus 2 days are the only non peak summer dates that fit ther schedule. Now, I told her that from reading this board that all major holidays and/or extended weekends should be avoided if possible but on mousesavers.com labor day weekend 2011 is not listed on their dates to avoid list.:confused3 So my question is are the labor day weekend crowd levels more manageable than most extended weekend dates? And will Free Dining make that much of a difference? IDK please help shed some light on this TIA :hippie:

Typically Labor Day weekend can be a very good time to go b/c most schools have either started back or are in the process of doing so.

We have been over Labor Day weekend a few times (including this past one) and it is never crowded.

HOT, yes.
Crowded, no.

Especially not on Labor Day itself, or the days immediately following.
We've noticed a few more folks on the Saturday and Sunday before Labor Day than you'd have on say a typical January weekend, but definitely not enough to have a negative impact on our activity. Nothing like the photos you can find of crowds over Thanksgiving or Christmas or Easter.

Historical crowd calendars on touring plans show Sunday of Labor Day weekend as the busiest of the 3 days over that weekend. But not as high as any day over Columbus day weekend.
