Labeling school supplies on the cheap?

I do not remember having this problem when I went to school! Are big kids seriously dropping supplies on the floor and expecting the Pencil Fairy to magic them back into their desks? They don't know better than to put their things back when they're done using them? I understand what you're saying but...sorry, this phenomenon cracks me up!

Oh I appreciate that it sounds crazy. I wouldn't have believed it until I saw it myself. But, then again, when visiting the classroom I also saw one kid cutting big pink erasers with scissors. When I confiscated the supplies, they weren't even that kid's. It seems like things have changed since we were kids so I'm just rolling with the punches. Maybe it will get better as we head into middle grades. Until then, I'm off with my Sharpie. And, yes, you can go ahead and laugh. I do as well.
