DH and I have decided that our Christmas present to each other will be to replace our living room furniture. I'm wondering if anyone has La-Z-Boy furniture and if so would you recommend it?

That's all we have. My husband loves it - the current set has been in our house 16 years so far and we've only replaced one chair because we have a cat that pretty much wrecked it.

And he uses the foot up thing every single night on his chair...... Ours is manual not the electric kind.

We have only good things to say about our set. It's 8 years old and still works like new and looks like new.

They have great customer service. We bought a chair and events changed the day prior to delivery and we no longer needed the chair. We were able to call and return the chair without ever having to go into the store. They were also super helpful in the store with picking the chair out and showing us both the manual and electric options. I won't hesitate to go back there when I need furniture in the future.

We just gave our La-Z-Boy recliner away after having it for 20 years. It was used daily and still in excellent shape. I highly recommend this brand.

We bought a set for one room about 3 years ago. After sitting in them, we could not even consider going with one of the twenty or so other brands we had previously tried. We just bought all new living room furniture from them, also; It was just delivered a couple of weeks ago. They have some really pretty styles, not just the traditional, frumpy looks I thought they had, and of course you can customize it. They have complimentary interior designers who will come to your home and they'll give you drawings of different configurations that will work. I highly recommend them!

I am glad to hear these reports since I just bought a couch from them yesterday! I bought a stock piece since I want it for Christmas. But I'm planning to customize a recliner later.

Yep, Lazy Boy all the way! We just replaced our ten year old stuff not because it wasn't functional but because we were done with tan. My nephew and his roomy could not believe their luck when we gave it to them. As PP mentioned you don't have to go with frumpy, my new stuff is sleek and modern. We picked out all fabric etc. We have two more rooms to do and they'll be Lazy Boy as well.

I guess we're the unlucky ones! We spent quite a lot of money on ours. We bought 2 matching glider/recliners, one in a "his" size and one in a "hers". The "his" chair is still ok, but the "hers" fell apart pretty quickly. It would make a clunking sound and we had a terrible time trying to get them to fix or replace it. We had to take it in a couple of times but it would always come back with the same problem, and they finally told us that's just the way it was going to be. They never replaced it, just tried to fix it but it would always come back exactly the same. And it wasn't cheap! Their guarantee was worthless, the chair quality was sub-par so I have to say for myself I'd never buy from them again.

Edited to add: My husband's chair still glides ok but the quality of the materials was very disappointing. The circular base is cheap and has holes in it! You don't really see them unless you look directly at the base, but how weird is that?

I do not own La-Z-Boy furniture but the furniture they manufacture and sell today is NOT the same quality as La-Z-Boy furniture from 20 years ago. Their quality is much lower now, and the same can be said about many other brands as well. It may last and serve you well, but it's something to keep in mind. I would avoid furniture with reclining mechanisms (in most brands) because they fail very often.

This statement is true. I used to work for a subsidiary of La-Z-Boy. The covers for all LZB upholstery are now produced in a Mexican cut and sew plant that has major issues. The mechanism are sourced from Asia and are very weak. I'm not downing LZB as all the other manufactures are getting the same components, therefore most furniture purchased today from anyone is not the same quality you purchased 15-20 years ago.

We don't own la-Z boy furniture but my best fiend swore by them she for her couch maybe 5 years ago. The seems came apart 4 months after it was delivered they "fix" it only for it to come apart 2 months later. Anyway it went back and forth like this a couple more times until they end up having to replace her couch and she end up picking another model she didn't like as much but at least it didn't have that problem. They would only offer her store credit.

We use to have lots of La-Z boy furniture over the years, but not anymore. The last 2 pieces we bought didn't last well at all and I won't buy them again. They use to have a great product, but now its no better than the cheaper brands. In fact, my parents cheap brand is still going strong long after our last Laz-y boy has died. We bought a new sofa on Friday and I never even looked at a La-Z boy.

We bought a couch, loveseat, and armless chair from them about 10 years ago. The couch and loveseat broke down quickly and the fabric was not very good quality. We had them fixed a few times while they were still under warranty but it was a hassle taking them to the store for repairs. We finally decided to replace them after a couple years.
The chair, however, was great. It was made from a different fabric (and a different pattern) and was constructed better. We are still using it.

We are on our second Lazy Boy set of living room furniture. We have had Lazy Boy furniture since the early 1970's. It will last forever. It is the best furniture you can buy. The last set we bought was leather and we love it!

We had ours for 25 years, wife bought it for me as a wedding present in 1982. Rocked both kids to sleep in it. Both kids beat it to death, spilled stuff on it. It needed work, which Lazy Boy would have done for free, but the upholstery was finally worn out too. That was 11 years ago, and I wish we had fixed it and reupholstered it because the EXPENSIVE non-Lazy Boy we replaced it with is about worn out already, without kid abuse.
