LA Unified changes its mind - School to start on August 16th in 2017

FYI, for those planning a trip, LA Unified, the largest school district in the area (and second largest in the Nation) had stated that they would start the 2017 school year a week later, but heard too many complaints, and decided to stick with the current version....

Does it say anywhere in the article when it will actually start? It says Aug 16 was the start date for 2016. But there's no date for 2017. Maybe I'm just missing it.

I'm an LAUSD teacher. Our official calendar for next year has not yet been approved, but it should be very similar to this year's.

Oh good...It's not just me! I read the article as well and thought they were saying that Aug 16 was the start date in 2016.

I'm an LAUSD teacher. Our official calendar for next year has not yet been approved, but it should be very similar to this year's.

Thanks for confirming that the calendars haven't been published yet. Hopefully they'll go up soon.
