I haven't stayed at La Quinta, but we really like Embassy Suites and I'm pretty picky about hotels. The rooms are real 2 room suites with 2 tv's. etc, and they have a great hot breakfast buffet.

Maybe check out tripadvisor.com for reviews of both to get a better idea. Just remember Embassy Suites South is under Garden Grove.:)

stayed at La Quinta in October '09. Regular room was two rooms.

Door enters into room with couch, coffee table, desk, TV, fridge.
Next room is bedroom with closet, TV, nite tables on both sides, and then into bathroom.
Price was great, and room was decent. We are not Hotel Snobs....so it just needs to be clean, and offer hot shower and clean bed....this one fit the bill.
After all, when we are at DL the room is only for sleeping and showering.;)
Free Continental Breakfast was pretty typical...offered sweet rolls, donuts, various breads and bagels for toasting. Eggs served something like you would find on an Egg McMuffin...(scrambled and in a circle) for easy serving. Pancakes with syrup and various cold cereals, cold milk and several different cold juices. And a small selection of fresh fruit.
We used ART to go to and from DL. Worked great for us. We would stay there again.:)

Thanks for the posts - am going to stay put at Embassy - Trip Advisor has MUCH better reviews for the Embassy. I know it is a bit further away, but i am willing to ride the ATR...... :thumbsup2

Embassy Suites South for sure! Great breakfast (love their potatoes), free well drinks/wine/beer,snacks, soda, slushes for the Manager's Special every night.:thumbsup2 Don't forget the large suite!
