Anyone ever traded for the La Quinta "Resort and Club" in Palm Springs, CA?

It is available in 2007 as part of the Concierge Collection and seems to be part of the Waldorf-Astoria family with a kids' club.

Just exploring options for next year, although to the best of my knowledge the point chart for 2008 has not been made public.

I know someone did. they were bring a pet and La Quinta is one of the few places that accepted pets.

Looks as if this is not a popular trade...

The points for trading in the summer are reasonable, especially when compared with their cash prices on-line, but being they're in the desert, I'm just wondering if it'd be a good family vacation destination.

I have not personally stayed at this resort, but I can tell you that it is HOT:sunny: in the summer. That is why the points are lower in the summer because unless you like the heat (triple digits), you probably won't be too happy.

My husband and I stayed at The La Quinta Resort and Club in November of 2006 on DVC points. We originally booked a resort casita and the hotel upgraded us to a deluxe poolside resort for no extra charge. Our room was beautifully decorated with a spanish flare and only steps away from one of their 40 or more swimming pools. There are activities for children including movie nights and tennis lessons. Some children even brought their own sccoters to ride around the property. The summer will be very-very hot. Unless you absolutely love HOT weather, try going during a different season and you will be much more comfortable.
