Hello, we are a family of 5 on a very tight buget. These two hotels seem reasonable. Can anyone who has stayed in them give me a thumbs up or down and points of view on the two?? Any help would be great!!! Thanks

which La Quinta - there are 2 - the new one Polynesian Drive - close to the Calypso Cay

the other one on US192 - it use to be a Sheraton

you do understand that both of these places only have 2 double beds - I think La Quinta had a cot (it cost extra).

the La Quinta was great - the last time I stayed in a Holiday Inn it was not enjoyable so it has been years since I have tried them again

2 La quinta's. I was looking at the one on 192. Yes I know the bed arrangments. My children are small. That is not a problem and both hotels allow 5 in a room. Thanks for the info. Anyone eles I would love all the info I can get. Thanks

I would choose the La Quinta on 192 that used to be a Sheraton. The Holiday Inn is ok and is close to Old Town, and to many restaurants.

I stayed in La Quinta last month. It is a fine place to stay on a budget. There is a fridge in the room and coffee maker. You will have to pay a $3.50 daily resort fee. With that fee you get a morning paper, coffee packets & creamer daily, free local and 800 calls, transportation to parks (I didn't use this).
The motel was clean and quiet, at least in the back where I was by request.
I believe there is a Pizza Hut on site (did not use), a Walgreens right next door and a Burger King within walking distance. There is much more but those are the stores I used.

I vote for the La Quinta. If you get a room looking towards a courtyard, it's a nice as you can get in that price range.
Another hotel that can have some good deals is the Clarion Maingate. The Clarion has interior corridors, which is rare in that price range.

Another vote to the LaQuinta -- we stayed there last month and LOVED it! (If you do stay there, try to get a room in Building 15 facing the pool). Free miniature golf for the kids (not fancy - but FREE), three great heated pools (so heated that we were able to swim at night when the air temps were about 60) and kids eat free (with paying adults) in their restaurants. BTW, we stayed there as a family of 5 without any trouble (3 small kids) and didn't feel too cramped. Good luck!

We are staying at the La Quinta starting Friday for 9 days. I can let you know after that if you would like, just pm me. We have always stayed onsite but I found the La Quinta for $21 a night on Hotwire and couldn't pass it up. And I haven't heard anything negative yet, just that it is a Budget Hotel. (I wouldn't expect anything else for that price) There are 5 of us also but my kids are 5,2, and 1 so we should be fine with two double beds.

thanks I sent you a PM....

I forgot how does hotwire work...do I choose a hotel? I am afraid to use those types of web site...afraid of what I might get. I want to be off of 192 not I-drive can they gaureentee that? Thanks

The way I used Hotwire was that you can put in that you want the WDW area. They will show you what that is on the map. Then they pull up hotels from that area. My experience has been that the prices can vary alot within a couple of days. I purchased our nights for $21 a while ago and I believe that it is now going for $69 for the same time. So if you don't see something, don't give up. On their screen it will also have a view ratings guide. This will tell you what their stars are equivalent to. The La Quinta is a 2.5 star. (equivalent to a Holiday Inn Express) A piece of advice that I read somewhere was to purchase 1 night first (either the first or the last of your trip). This is to see what the hotel is and then you can go online and check it out. I did this and checked to make sure that it was somewhere that we would be happy with. I figured worse case scenerio was that we paid $21 for a night that we would not use. Hope this helps.

I just got back from the La Quinta. It was great! We got it for $19 a night on Priceline. The rooms were spacious (much more so than All Stars at WDW) and it was quiet. We weren't far from Disney and I would definately stay there again!
