La Nouba handicapped seating?

I am considering doing this with my ds next week.

I use a wheelchair like a walker but I do have issues with stairs, heights etc.

So do they have seating for either wheelchairs/companions or an easy place to transfer that does not involve steps etc?

Also I have a pooh sized butt so how what that be seating wise? Would it be better to stay in the chair? I know a good view would be important to my ds.

Also I would need a view that does not require too much turning of my head to the left or right for long periods of time. I cant do that because I had a left neck dissection due to cancer.

And lastly, we might consider taking a taxi there from our resort (Dolphin). Would a taxi be able to put a folded up wheelchair in their trunk?

It's been awhile since we went, but this was our experience. The theater was laid out where you enter mid-way and walk up and down to seating. The wheelchair seating we had was at the back of the last row up from the stage. It was easy to see everything without turning. Looked down on the stage, but not too far down. My son can't turn his head well and it worked out really well. We were kind of in the middle. Also when the performers enter, they entered along the pathway right behind our seats. They also allowed us to sit as a family in that area.

The wheelchair seating is full of folding chairs, so if you transfer, that is what you will sit on. That is what your companion will sit on. If you do transfer, they will move your folding chair to make room for your wheelchair, of course.

There is an elevator to get to the level where you enter for seating.

You might want to sit in the side wheelchair seating area so you don't need to turn your head in as big of a radius side-to-side, but do know that some of the acts take place in the air, so you would need to move your head up to see them.

Is there a reason you'd pay for a taxi over take the free Disney buses? I don't know the answer to your wheelchair in a taxi trunk question, sorry.

Most taxis should be able to fit a folded wheelchair in their trunk. If you can decide what time you want to be picked up, you could also schedule one of the accessible taxis Mears has, but I really think that would be overkill. (There are a limited number of the accessible ones so if you don't book ahead, you can wait for quite a while.) I have a non-folding (the back folds down and that's it) manual wheelchair and it's fit in every taxi I've used or flagged down pretty much everywhere I've been (both US and Europe).

I haven't been to La Nuba, but I've seen a different Cirque de Soleil show (I think I was still walking some then, but probably still had accessible seats). Due to the nature of Cirque de Soleil, you're going to see most, if not all, of it regardless of seat even if you can't move your head at all. That's one of the benefits of thrust stages. The only seats I might try to avoid since you can't turn your head would be the ones all the way to the right or left. If you buy ahead you can avoid that (they're only seats sold through the box office on the day).

Just thought I would do a little update on our La Nouba experience.

We took a taxi there because my ds wanted to swim as long as possible in storm along bay before the show.

I rented the extra wide wheelchair. It fit in the taxi trunk but the guy had to take the legs off.

When we ordered the tickets I told the agent about my not being able to turn my neck well etc.

He said the 3rd floor would be fine, so that is what we got in the middle. I chose to stay in the chair because I have back issues too. My ds sat in the chair next to me.

We had a perfect center view of the stage. He loved the show but I thought it was a little too much sensory overload for my brain to process all at once and there was a never a break etc.

The section Zaksmom mentioned was great too that we saw, but it would have been another $30 or $40 each I think.

how were you able to swim at stormalong bay when you were staying at the Dolphin?

Sorry I typed too fast. We were at the Dolphin and then switched to the Yacht Club, so our La Nouba day was actually Sept. 2nd when we were at the Yacht Club.
