Prairieville is quiet so far. Most of my family from the bayou area (south of New Orleans) went west to Texas.

Hope y'all are OK so far.

We're here in Baton Rouge...doing fine so far. Not much yet. My mom and grandparents came up here. They are from south of new orleans.

Hey skuttle - you're one of the 1st ones I thought of since your family's just a few miles apart from mine. Lot of nervous tension here about what's gonna be left once the storm surge subsides from the bayou areas.

DBIL had to stay behind as he's emergency personnel. Not much sleeping going to happen here this evening.

Yes, it is a concern. My dad and inlaws stayed down there. Some family went north, others went to Texas. Just wait and see, I guess.

i'm in central mississippi. we have over 8 inches forcasted here and we are waiting to see if school will be cancelled tomorrow.

about 45 miles west of beauty,, so far calm and clear here, but expecting sevreal inches rain and a lot of wind tommorrow

East Central Mississippi here...

I brought the skeeter eater in and am expecting to lose power by this time tomorrow night. 70 mph sustained winds predicted here...not quite hurricane strength, but still tough.

In AZ now, but moved from New Orleans in Nov 2004. My heart and mind are with my freinds in the NOLA area!
