I can't put a finger on it, but something has me unsettled about our dinner ADR at La Hacienda de San Angel. We've never been there, but I've checked the menu online. It looks pretty limited - 2 items to be shared by two, and then only five entrees. We're all pretty adventurous eaters (well, not so much DD9, but she'll be OK with the kids menu there).
Has anyone been there in the last few months and can give me an impression? I just checked and there's still ADR's available at Marrakesh (were there in '05) and Chefs de France (DH & I were in '09, but kids haven't been) so I'm thinking about changing it.

Our family was there this past Thanksgiving week and we absolutely loved La Hacienda. The choices may have been limited but my husband and I shared one of the dinners for two (the choice with chicken and beef, not the seafood choice for two) and a lot of food was served to us. There was a wonderful, eager to please wait staff and the presentation of all the food was just so nice. It tasted really good, too. It was a very nice dinner any way you look at it and was one of the really nice surprises of our trip. We had eaten at San Angel Inn and were not impressed at all but La Hacienda was excellent.

I thought it was excellent. We've only been once, last October, but thoroughly enjoyed everything. Very fresh tasting, generous portions. The atmosphere is so cheerful and pleasant. Sooooo.....much better then San Angel Inn. I always found it to be too dark and dreary. Over the past few years the food has gotten progressively worse, too. Don't change your ADR!

I cant wait for our ADR in Sept! Only sad thing is it will be our last TS dinner in WDW!

We ate there in March of this year. It was one of the highlight meals of the trip. We were seated right at our ADR time, had wonderful service and a tasty meal in a beautiful setting.

So happy to hear the positive reviews! This is one we are really looking forward to in August! :thumbsup2

Wow, so pleased to see the good reviews! We are meeting friends there for dinner in September. I am super excited now! :yay:

We ate dinner there 2 weeks ago. We thought it was excellent. Relaxed, not too loud, pleasant server, delicious avocado margarita, fresh chips w/2 types of salsa, and our apps and entrees were yummy. We did not have dessert.

Avocado margerita? Never had one of those before :) Did you enjoy it?

I was hesitant when we went there the first time also. The menu seemed limited to me. I was pleasantly surprised. We shared one of the platters for two and loved it! Also liked the taco appetizers. The service was the best!

Is La Hacienda de San Angel the old restaurant in the Mexico Pavilion and Cantina de San Angel the new, large restaurant they've built next to the lake?

No, la Hacienda and la Cantina share that large building next to the lake. The San Angel Inn is still inside the Mexico pavilion.

It was delicious. Smooth rather than icy and not too sweet. I usually oder my margaritas traditional and on the rocks but decided I needed to try this on b/c I looooove avocado.

hi, does anyone know what can you order if you are on the deluxe dining plan, are there any restrictions on what you can have, thanks susie

Our family went during our September trip when it was in soft opening and then again in December and it was amazing. We enjoyed it both times. The food was very good. We were a bit worried at first but it really was amazing. We asked our servers what they recommended and it turned out great both times. We also enjoyed the views of Illuminations there. It was a great way to end our Epcot days.

I was on the deluxe plan both times we went September and December and I don't remember any restrictions. No alcoholic beverages but that was about it.
