We will be arriving at Disneyland Hotel sometime between 11 am and 1 pm on Monday the 18th. We are from Oregon and I am nervous about getting through LA. Will the traffic be horrendous? How fast do all drive etc??? Would love your information just so we know what to expect.

Thanks!!!

People drive FAST!! From about 70-80. But I did not see too many crazy drivers and the lanes were pretty wide and the freeways were big.

Traffic was horrible going south through LA from about 2-7pm. If you can, go through there earlier. It is not a big deal though, you just sit and wait and it winds up taking about twice as long as you would have anticipated. It really helps if you are driving against the commute....go into LA in the evenings, out of LA in the mornings. Once you get south of LA and more into OC where DL is, it gets much better.

The hours you intend to arrive at Disneyland sound pretty good. You should be able to make it through L.A. without much trouble. Maybe some back-up, but you shouldn't be in major rush hour, perhaps just the tail end of it. Drive about 70 on the freeways and you'll be fine. If you've got people on your bumper or you're getting passed a lot, just move over to the right hand lanes. Stay out of the fast lane, if you don't want to keep up with the pace, and you shouldn't have any big problems. And, PLEASE, read the signs!! There's nothing I hate more than people who don't read signs and then panic at an interchange or offramp and make a wild move across multiple lanes of traffic. Just keep your head and you won't have any problem.

I agree with Magix based on your ETA, you shouldn't have too much trouble with traffic. Do make sure to listen to traffic reports on the radio though just in case a bad accident screws things up for you.

I agree that listening to the traffic reports are helpful, but only if you know the area. The traffic reports are given really quickly and if you aren't familar with the street names and off-ramps, it won't mean a thing to you. I found this out when travelling in other cities. They'd give street names and areas which I had no clue of where they were.
