Hi,
I asked about La Croix du Vieux Pont in one of my earlier posts and a couple of people had been there. We are going with The Sun newspaper's £9.50 Holiday Deal.

What was the accommodation like? When we have tried Sun deals in the UK, the standard of caravans have been a bit and miss.

Sometimes, we would get budget accommodation with filthy carpets and torn wallpaper. Sometimes, we would get Gold accommodation! We don't expect Gold (or the equivalent) at La Croix du Vieux Pont, but it would be nice to know what standard to expect.

Thanks.

Hello again, I can only comment on Keycamps accommodation, this is a big site and there are a few different holiday companies with caravans there.

We stayed in a two bedroom Villagrand, I think it slept 7 people. We had a double bedroom, a smaller room with two beds and a pulldown bunk. Then the living room sofa pulled out into a bed.

I was very pleased with our accommodation, it was very clean, nice decor, the appliances were easy to use and the range of kitchen utensils was very good. They supply lots of thick blankets but im sure you will have to take your own pillowcases and sheets.

I loved La croix du veiux pont, it was very good value for what we paid, we had 12 days with the ferry crossing included for £260. It would cost twice that on the welsh coast near our home. Its a very clean site, id go as far to say it is immaculate. The flower beds are amazing and there were always groundspeople around keeping it all tidy.

The Keycamp reps were brilliant, they were really helpful. They also stocked a big range of board games, outdoor games, and books that you could borrow for nothing on a trust basis.

If you have a look at Keycamps website you can look at the caravans interiors on there and what facilities and utensils you will have.

Hope that helps a bit!

The previous 2 times we stayed there with the SUN

its been a 2 bedroomed ( double plus bunks and single in other room)
most basic one ( whatever its called cant remember!)
no heating apart from a gas fire in the lounge area, and a fan in the kitchen for warmer weather!
but ideal for us as we dont spend much time in it,its always been clean etc :)

you are always able to upgrade when you receive your paperwork ,although we never have as its always been fine

they dont have duvets !! its just blankets!!!
we expected duvets but brought our own covers sheets etc

so that was a bit of a shock ! lol

so will be bringing duvets and an extra heater to heat the bedrooms when we go in Oct!

That was the same at Le Chenne Gris in October last year! We nearly died because it was so cold at night in there!!

Will definatly take my own duvet next time!!

none of us wanted to get out of bed to get showered / dressed!

the boys would stand infront of the fire lol to esat and get dressed

and as the floor was all vinyl it was well cold under foot!!

deffo slipers, fleece PJs and duvets this time round ::yes::

Thank god we're off in May. We did think about going for Halloween. I am glad we decided against it!!!

We went on a Sun holiday to Holland last year & ended up in Eurocamp caravan which the basic one was very nice.

It will take about an hour & half to get from Berny to Disney & the best route is to use the motorway.

it took us just under an hour to get to Disney

we did leave early in the morning though ,to arrive in good time for opening

halloween season is sposed to be fab though :) cant wait

dont get me wrong its wasnt icy cold ( in the day ) and actually quite sunny, but during the night / early morning WAS cold in the caravan

and the site is lovely at that time,we were lucky and had lovely crisp autumn weather with very little rain :)

xx

I agree with everyone else about how cold the caravans are first thing in the morning and at night.
We went in the last week of Sept-first week of Oct, it was warm in the day, we actually had a good few days of sunshine.
We made good use of the gas fire!!
