This is inkkognito posting under her husband's ID.
Just got back from Orlando, where we used L & M for the first time ever. I was leery because of some of the horror stories we read here, but they were the only reasonably priced option for this weekend.
No line at their counter at all. I was expecting lots of pressure to buy their insurance. but they didn't even ask to see my ins. card. They just asked if I wanted it, I said no, and that was it. They asked about the gas option or an upgrade, I said no, and that was it. very low key...no pressure whatsoever. I've had a worse time with Alamo! I'd compare their counter agents with Avis or National. We rented an economy car and got a brand new, loaded Ford Focus with only 4 miles on it, still full of new car smell. Drop off was simple...pull in, they check over the car, and you're on your way.
I will definitely be using them again in the future. I'm sorry I avoided them for so long!

Great news, thanks for posting....I had a not great experience with them 4 years ago (it wasn't awful...just a very pushy clerk, who did not want to take no for an answer on the insurance and then made us wait like another 20 minutes....I assume because we said no to the insurance thing....car was fine, but we had to wait in the garage for them to bring it in from somewhere)...so I have been reluctant to try them again (but in all honesty I have had bad experiences one place or another with other rental agencies and have used them again...) Nice to know for future refernece if they have better prices I will try again!!

Thanks

My husband's theory is that maybe they realize they've been getting bad word of mouth and mended their ways. I hope that's the case because I've seen some great prices from them and have always been afraid to book 'em. We'll probably be using them again at some point this year, so I'll post on whether we just lucked out this time or whether they bat two for two.

I rented a car from them a couple of years a go and had a similar experience to the initial post. No hassle and the pleasure of being the only customer in line. (Compared to the "hundreds" at the Alamo counter, I felt privileged.) I will be using them to rent a large passenger van during a December trip and am still a little leery due to other posts. I am currently looking to make a back-up reservation just in case. Any suggestions?

Can you give me contact info for L & M I am looking for a good deal. Thanks!!

Run a search at www.orbitz.com and they will come up, along with the rack rates for all the others so you can quickly compare.

Glad to hear that the rental worked out well:)

Did they charge for add'l drivers? Spouse?

Thanks!!

Ironically, I forgot to ask if my spouse was included! I didn't realize it until my husband offered to drive at one point and I realized that I didn't know. I'll be sure to ask next time...I'm used to him not being included because most of the agencies charge extra when you use Priceline (as I usually do). Avis is the occasional exception.
