L & M car rental

what insurance papers do you need to rent a car from L & M ? i've read that you need a copy of your insurance card and the 1st page of your policy, is this correct ?

Yes. The policy page you bring must show that you have liability, comp. and collision on your own car.

Buyer beware! There are numerous complaints on this forum about L&M simply refusing to honor reservations. If you book with them you might want to have some kind of backup plan.

I've used them several times without incident...But I did check in mid day and have my Insurance cover page. I found the staff very helpful....I was prepared for a disaster and it never appeared..

I've rented from them 3 times without problems. But here's a little heads up. Last time I rented they asked me if I wanted basic insurance coverage or more extensive coverage. I, of course, didn't want any additional coverage so I told them that and also showed them a copy of the front page of my auto insurance. I hear they are doing this little word play at other car rental companies so pay attention and check your charges before you sign.

I used them once w/o any problem. I brought the insurance Declarations page with me, but they never asked for it.

We have used L&M from Orlando 2 or 3 times a year for at least two years and (knock wood) we have never had a problem. My dh just returned Friday from a trip to FL and used L&M. They oversold his car class and upgraded him for no charge. Compared to some of the other companies they have great service and some unbeatable prices. I love not having to take a shuttle off airport to get the car.

You will need proof of insurance or they will have to charge you for it. IMHO they make no secret of this and warn you ahead of time. We just bring the "coverage selection page" and that does the trick.
