L&M car rental?

Has anybody used L&M car rental? How are they?

I have used L & M car rental three times and I have never had a problem with them. They have always honored my internet rate and were always very quick to get me to my car and also were very quick when we returned the car. Just make sure you have a copy of your auto insurance ( 1st page). I fyou don't have this they will make you take their insurance.

I had made my reservation with them a few months in advance. I checked it several times, including the night before we left. Suddenly my res. was gone from their system. " I need a car" I told them.......... "A Car? Are you crazy, this is Daytona 500 weekend, all our cars are gone!!" To put a very long story short, they dumped my res. along with dozens of other people who showed up at the counter at the same time as I did. They dumped all of our reservations to sell the cars at "walk-up" rates to anyone for about $50/day. We had to take a cab to our hotel. Needless to say, I will never use them again.

splashmt, did you print a copy of your reservation and bring it with you, if you booked online, or a reservation number? That's rotten what they did to you! I have rented from them before, last May. I had no problems with the rental and a really great rate. But I had heard some bad stories and had a ressie with National just in case they gave me any trouble.

Yes I have heard similar stores about failure to honor reservations by L&M on The Dis boards, but now thay have an extra excuse to dump you and this time legitimately.

Because they are a Florida only operation(?), it is difficult to hold them accountable if you have to rent from somebody else at a highe rate.

I would stay away from them.

Not personally, but I can't even COUNT the number of terrible reports and posts I've read about them here on the DIS in the past couple of years!!! I wouldn't do it if I were you.
