We are booked into the Kyriad for our forthcoming trip. I've just read the review of My Travellers and I noticed it's possible to walk to/from the parks. Am I right in saying the Kyriad is in the same location, and therefore is it also possible to walk from here too?

We stayed at the Cheyenne last time, and often enjoyed the walk down to the parks in the morning, having been forced into an early breakfast :cool1:

Has anyone else stayed at the Kyriad recently, would be interested in your opinions, and any photos - thanks

Yes Kyriad sits along side Holiday Inn, Dream Castle and Explorers.
Elaine mentions walking a number of times from Explorer so I'm sure this can be done :)

I stayed there last wekend and was very pleased. I booked it with expedia and got a great rate so I did not have very high expectations.
The checkin was great. My room was ready at 12.00 ( I had phoned in advance to tell them I would be arriving early). The reception staff were friendly and answered all my questions. There is a shop , a bar and an internet conection in the reception area.
Breakfast was ok. There were cubes of cheese, slices of ham and chicken roll. bread, croisants and chocolate pastries, jam, cereales and 2 sorts of fromage frais, tea, coffee, hot chocolate, water and 2 sorts of juice.
You need to choose a time for breakfast and they are in spans of 30 mins. I went early one morning and there was no problem with that.
I didnt eat dinner and there is no lunch available.
the rooms are fine they are clean. i had a room with 2 single beds which was big enough. The tv had CNN and BBC World on it for UK channels, There was also a Spanish channel an Italian channel and a German channel and of course several French channels. There was no Disney channel.
I looked into a sleep 4 room on my way past and that looked fine too the have bunks and a double bed.
If you have any more questions PM me.
I forgot to take photos - sorry.

Thanks Nikki, sounds like we won't be disappointed! I remember cubes of cheese at the Cheyenne from last March, eat all you can, whereas they rationed the ham to one slice cut in two :rotfl2:

You didn't have a problem with drunken teens, as mentioned in a trip report I read earlier today, from last summer?

I have to say I settled on this hotel as a budget option after reading good reviews on TripAdvisor, it came up the cheapest of the closest to DLP for the time I was booking.

Hi

This hotel is fine. We went in 2004 and are going back this year. It was clean, and as we were hardly ever in it, we didnt need any of the facilities it lacked compared to the more expensive hotels, so it was perfect for us.

I personally wouldnt want to walk to it after walking the parks all day, I would say its about 2 miles from the park.

I had no problems with noise at all and as I was on my own was inclined to be in bed earlyish. I would guess in the summer there are school groups on group holidays, as I have seen that in the Holiday inn in June.

Thanks both of you, sounds like this hotel will be ideal for us!

Strangely enough when we went to DL for the first time last March we had picked this hotel, but for some reason they weren't taking bookings when we booked (7 months ahead!), so we chose the Cheyenne instead. It will be nice to try out our first choice this time around :)
