Kylo Ren meet & greet coming to Disneyland!

I just got an email from Disney-- Kylo Ren is going to start doing meet & greets at Star Wars Launch Bay! It says they'll be starting in February, and that other meet & greets include Chewbacca, so reading between the lines that could mean that the Darth Vader m&g is going away.

My kids will LOVE this - my daughter is counting down until Adam Driver is on SNL tonight! We have already met Darth - and while that was great things have sort of moved along now that the new movie has been seen by most fans.

Well technically Darth Vader has been dead since 1983 so I was actually surprised to see him there when we did - but suspend disbelief and all that I guess...

So here's what I don't get..... with everything that's going away at DHS, why on EARTH would they need to take away Vader because they're bringing in Kylo Ren?

Hopefully, this won't occur too early in Feb so we can see Darth. Thought the Ren character was pretty weak, not nearly as powerful as Vadar since he was basically 3rd in charge or shared being 2nd and mocked by others in command. Why the mask? Just to be Darth-like? Also weak. Acting was not great and at times reminded me of the awful acting by Hayden Christensen as Anakin.

And yes, YMMV...............

FABulous!!! My boys will be so excited when I deliver the news. We met Vader at WDW thank goodness. Maybe they'll keep Vader for Jedi Training?

I would imagine they keep Darth for Jedi Training since I don't think Kylo is ready to train anyone yet...

I'm a little disappointed if they get rid of Darth, but I think my oldest son will be thrilled with either one! He loves Kylo Ren!

Spoilers, so don't read if you haven't seen this.

He did wear the mask as Vader was his idol. Easy enough to pick up when he tells the burned mask of Vader that he will finish what he started. Also don't forget in Episode IV, Vader answered to Grand Moff Tarkin, who answered to the emperor. Vader didn't gain control of a Death Star and become #2 until after the first one was blown up.

As is, you also have to remember the age of Kylo Ren as well. The guy was a teenager when he left. He had self doubt. He would have fits of rage to try to push the little bit of the light side he had left in him as he felt having any sort of sorrow, love, regret, remorse, etc. would keep him from his full potential. His fits of rage were obviously known upon the first order as the two storm troopers who went to go get him and gave a big fat NOPE when they heard him and saw the sparks coming from his room and turned around. He was pretty much played to perfection based on how his character was written and I'm actually curious/excited to see how he goes as the new supreme commander continues his training.

I too hope that Darth doesn't go away, I agree that they should keep him for the Visa M&G at least. We are really excited to have the chance to visit with him when we are there in June, however I think it will be just as cool to meet Kylo Ren. Now my family would be even more ecstatic if there was a M&G with Rey, Finn, and possibly Po....crossing my fingers that that could still happen.

From the movie we know none of that.

And just like with anakin, for the rest of his feelings and problems, I say "wahhh" to the character.
