I am fairly new to the DIS, and have heard alot about Kungaloosh.:rolleyes1 I was wondering what was in one, so I can practice my bartending skills, before hitting the fort.;)
However, I am confused,:confused3 when I tried to find the recipe, I found 3 different variations. I am hoping you seasoned Kungaloosh drinkers can tell me which one is the best. Thanks!!!!:thumbsup2

These are the 3 I found online

Kungaloosh Adventurer's Club Recipe
2/3 bottle Blackberry Brandy
2/3 bottle White Rum (Castillo)
2/3 bottle Captain Morgan's spiced rum
128 ounces liquid strawberry daiquiri mix
128 oz orange juice
1/2 gallon water

Old Kungaloosh Recipe -- Circa 1997
1 1/4 ounce vodka
1 1/4 ounce Malibu Rum
3/4 ounce Midori (melon liqueur)
2 tablespoons pineapple juice
1 splash cranberry juice
Mix well.

New Kungaloosh Recipe -- since 2000 or so
1 cup Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
1/4 cup blackberry brandy
Toss it in a blender with enough ice to make it slushy.

I'm sure Jim will be along soon to clear up any confusion!

yeah, wonder why he hasn't chimed in on this one, yet. :cool1:

Wouldn't it be worth trying all three? They all sound pretty good. Sounds like a good night.

Sorry, been busy today.

My variation of the recipe, and the official Fort Fiends variation, comes from many nights of trial and error. If you use the first recipe, you will make enough for the whole loop. I was never a fan of the old recipe, and the new one was too sweet, so here is mine:

1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Capt Morgan's Spiced Rum
1/4 cup strawberry daiquiri mix
1/4 cup blackberry brandy or liquer

put in a blender (I use a Magic Bullet) with enough ice to make slushy.

Not only is this not as sweet, but when you use the same volume of everything, it is a lot easier to remember after you have had a few.

ahhhhhh yes, as only ft. wilderness guy would know. :lmao:

my question is "jim, when you made that first recipe that could supply the whole loop, did you share?" :dance3:

Thanks, can't wait to try it,:thumbsup2 and I know what you mean about trying to remember the recipe when you've had a few, your variation does seem a bit easier.

It's still a while before we go, but who knows, I might just have to make the first batch up (for the whole loop), for some of you nice DISers who have been so helpful to me since I joined.:grouphug:
I have a nice idea about a yard sign, for the 5th wheel. Musket Mickey with a lime green sign that says free Kungaloosh. (what do you think?)

Thanks Again for the help!:goodvibes

If anyone is planning to make the first one that supplies an entire loop, please let me know which loop you will be in so I can request that loop too!

I'll make sure we have plenty of "supplies" on hand too! Everyone is welcome to stop by for a :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1 :drinking1

If we spring for the internet I'll post what site we have! :cool1:

See y'all at the Fort!:woohoo:

I would use Jim's recipe,,he is the official Kungaloosh King of the camping boards.
I tend to listen to the experienced professionals. :thumbsup2

Think I'm going to have to try and make this today....Just to be on the safe side. Want to make sure it's safe for human consumption. :rotfl2:

In order to make a complete and acurate decision on this matter, that one should drink at least 3 (okay, maybe 4) Kungaloosh.:thumbsup2
Are you prepared to take the test ??

Sir!!! Yes, Sir!!! I am always willing to sacrifice my liver and what remaining brain cells I have left for the good of all humanity. :rotfl:

Not bad. Think I might try it, though, on the rocks instead of putting it in the blender. (Like I like margaritas) I'll get back to you.:stir:

i am thinking it is kind of what KEROSENE would taste like... ;)
