We, too, love the Dolphin and have stayed there several times. The only complaint I have ever had was after the end of a long day, the walk from the elevators to our balcony room overlooking Epcot was REALLY long. In fact, it was a lot like a movie where they show the hallway getting longer and longer as you walk. The view from the balcony, however, did make it worthwhile after a bit of grousing. Service has always been terrific and the pool staff is so much fun. You absolutely cannot beat the Swan and Dolphin for its price and location. My family also loves the Boardwalk...if I had to pick one over the other, the Boardwalk would likely win just because of its location and size. The Dolphin is so huge and the Boardwalk (Inn, mind you, not Villas) seems a bit more intimate. However, when you load price into the equation, the Swan & Dolphin win hands down. If you are trying to conserve steps for the parks, you might want to consider booking the Swan since it's not as large as the Dolphin.

Hi! We want to go Dec 28-Jan 3 and looking for a deal. Swan and Dolphin sound great.

Will my mother qualify for the teacher rate if she works as a secretary for the school system?? Would she show her paystub for "_________" County Schools?

If not, where would be the place to find good rates? I looked at Hotwire but they don't give the names of the hotels till you pay for them. How do you know that you are getting S&D from Hotwire??

Congratulations on such great rates. Hope I can get something similar.

about the Teacher rate for my wife, they were VERY clear that she had to bring either a check stub or ID card in addition to a current & official teaching certificate to qualify for the discount.
I would call to see what you can find out and if they do say its "OK", I'd get a name just in case!

After I posted that question about exactly "who" qualifies for the teacher discount I found this.

Teacher and Education Support Staff Discount
All teachers and educational facility administrative personnel (includes colleges and universities) can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts. If you are a teacher with a certified teaching certificate, or you are employed in a school as an educational facility administrator you can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts.This would include teachers aides, substitute teachers, and administrative staff. These job types will require a Work ID or letter from supervisor on company letterhead stating employment or a recent Pay Stub.

If a school secretary is considered administravtive staff, it looks to me like she qualifies. I found it here
