I just listened to the Year in Review and top news stories show on my daily run so thanks for entertaining me while I was out there.
What a great show! As you pointed out on this episode, there is a tendency to focus on the negative stuff because that's what makes the news and gets people talking. It was terrific to step back and have everyone talk about a good thing, a positive change, a memorable experience from the past year. We all have so much to be thankful for, with Disney and in our lives in general, but we don't always take the time to reflect on it all.
I had a number of favorite Disney experiences this year. We were fortunate to be able to attend both the Mega Meet in July and the Podcast Cruise this month. Getting to see so many DIS friends who we've met at other events and especially getting to meet so many new DISers, some of whom I "know" from the boards and many who I didn't know, was really a highlight of the year for me.
Another highlight which didn't happen at Disney World but happened because of the DIS was getting to meet @Princess Jes who was visiting from Australia. We connected in NYC, had dinner, and saw Aladdin together. And we also got a bonus DIS meeting with @CampbellzSoup that evening.
As Kathy has said many times, being active with the DIS has made the world so much smaller and more connected. To think that I have friends from coast to coast, in Canada, the Netherlands, England, and Australia all because of this community is amazing.
Thank you to Pete and the entire team who make all of this happen and provide all of this great content for us. It is certainly appreciated. Here's to a great 2017!
