For anyone considering Hojo for your stay, I would heartily recommend them. Our rooms were wonderful, the staff is AMAZING, the highly debated walk length is VERY doable - even with one child in a stroller, my highly asthmatic mother, and me with a bandaged foot, it never took us over ten minutes to be from parking lot to entrance. And at the end of a LONG day of walking, the stroll back to our room was never an issue. This is coming from a lazy-by-nature Pooh-esque person, so you skinny fit people could probably walk laps around the parking lot just for fun!!
And with the entertainment rate, our checkout was a really nice surprise. Two rooms for three nights were so affordable that my Grumpy husband is actually allowing me to start talking about a return trip in 2012!

I was worried about the walk but did a google pedomitor check on it and it's only 3 tenths of a mile. It's exactly the same as from the Anaheim Plaza to the cross walk. 3 tenths isn't bad at all especially for that price.

We booked th HoJo for our trip. They were supper friendly on the phone, when my huband called to add a day to our trip! They even told him that rates had gone down and that there was a Entertainment book with a cheaper price!! :lovestruc
We stayed at the Park Place Inn last year and all though it was very close it was lacking in ceritan areas! The beds we got were horrible  And we payed like 110 or something and we got it with the HoJo for 89. Which we thought was a good deal for where it is located. I wont lie we are concerned about the walk at the end of the night with our 4 girls in tow! But we googled it and google said it was about as far as the distance to our kids school down the street...so I have my fingers crossed!! And everyone on here seems to like it! :rotfl:

Just curious, what kind of room did you get? We have 6 too and they told us that they only had one room in the entire hotel that could sleep 6.

Glad to hear you enjoyed the HOJO. We are staying there on our upcoming trip. What building were you in? We booked a Disney view room, with a request for the top floor.

We were in building #2, overlooking the garden pool from the 3rd floor. We had two adjoining double queen rooms and requested one roll-away so that nine of us were very comfortable each night. We had a mini fridge, microwave, and the world's loudest flushing toilet! :lmao: J/K - we are not used to the So Cal MEGA water pressure in the restrooms, I told my DH to hang on to our kids when we flushed for fear one might get sucked down.....

Thanks for post. We will be there in less than two weeks. :woohoo: Staying at the HoJo again. We enjoyed it when we were there a few years ago (before they upgraded their pool) so it is nice to hear that they are still getting good reviews. :) I also did not think that the walk was very far at all. Actually, when we stayed at the DHR, the walk to the park was further. Go figure!

Thanks for the great review!

My mind is spinning with all the choices and I think a person starts to overthink! I think that HOJO will be the way we go!:thumbsup2

I loved HOJOs when we went there early Feb for 7 days. It was a 7 to 10 min walk to DL, and we had a top floor room in building 2 facing the garden pool. The kids loved the Pirates Cove area, and went there many times while we were there. We were very impressed how well the hotel was kept clean, both in the rooms and the grounds of the hotel. We really liked their gift shop, as it has many breakfast items, and went there every morning to pickup cereal for the kids, and a muffin or danish for us. Would not hesitate to reccommend this hotel to anyone who's thinking of heading to the mouse. PS: MIMI's has excellent food, but Millies the restaurant next door the service and the quality of the food were not the greatest at times. Have a great day everyone!

So glad you enjoyed your room and had a good time!

We loved it when we stayed there in October. We had a top floor room, with a great view of the park, in building one-- room 1713. The beds were so comfy, everything was beautifully clean, service was so friendly and fast. I even asked if Lorealle was working, and met her briefly to thank her for all the questions and help she had answered and given us.

We also really enjoyed the hot tub area. It's by the Castaway Cove waterplay area, and DD13 and I ended up actually playing around under the dump bucket! It was a great way to soak away our sore feet at the end of the day.

We also liked taking the "shortcut"-- we came out the side door of building one, jaywalked across Manchester right there (very little traffic) and crossed Harbor at the light. Then we were able to walk down the uncrowded west side of Harbor and go in at the entrance by the bus stop, cutting a few minutes off our walk.

I'd stay there again every time! :thumbsup2

I'm so glad you liked it!!! We love the HoJo!!! It's our first pick every time. :) Of course we don't always get our first pick but we are hoping to stay at the HoJo a few times this year. :)

We're staying for the first time in May. I have to say their in-house reservationist, Jennifer, is super helpful and accomadating and took lots of time to get us into a room we'd enjoy. (Building 2, pool view, as I want to minimize road noise.) I've read several HOJO threads bu nobody seems to mention that you CAN take ART either to or from the park if you'd rather not walk. Just a little somthing to keep in mind if you have kids in tow or are prone to sore feet.

I am excited for our stay this june. And I agree that jennifer was very helpful and patient with us! We stayed at the fairfield for one night in dec (it was free) and we walked up to that light by hojo and crossed there....so we did the hojo walk, and it wasn't far at all! It was nice. We always stay at GCH but for the hojo price and close walk it cannot be beat!

LOL we had Jennifer help us as well. SHe was great! We had made earlier reservations and she saw that the rates had gone down since then, and gave us the lower one. She even told us about the enteratainment book discount, which prompted us to buy one, $12.50, and lower our rate by another $20. Which led to more money in our budget so another night at the hotel!! Now we dont have to travel and do the park in the same day!!! YEA JENNIFER!!!! Wish there was a supervisor we could call.

you know on our first trip we were worried about this as well, our first thought was to hide one of the kids. But when we called i was sure to mention that we had 6 people, they said it wasn't a problem albeit our 4 girls were ages 7,5,3,1. It might be the higher age thing that is causing you problems, cause this year we are staying at HoJo and they once again said it is a NON issue. We got a premeium two queen room, with a disneyview. If you want to not tell them, blow up matresses are a good fix. Hope that helps! If all else fails ask for Jennifer Vitalis, she was our reservation person, and help out quite a bit. If you read this thread you will see that others had had a similary good experience with her.
:cool1:

I swear to you, the walk to HoJos at DLR is shorter than your walk to the Value busses at WDW. Matter of fact, my kids, who were 4 and 9 at the time of our last trip, usually begged to me to let them go swimming after we'd returned at the end of the night!
