Has anyone done the three-tour package at Kualoa Ranch? I'm curious what choices you made, and if you felt it was a good value for the dollar, considering it's three tours PLUS lunch.

We're sold on the catamaran tour and movie tour, but can't decide if a third tour is worth doing. We know we'd need to eat at Kualoa Ranch, so thinking the included buffet would be good.

TIA

We are going in a few weeks. We decided on only two tours. ( Catamaran and Jurassic) This was only because we have 3 kids and my older mom with us and it is a very long day between all tours and lunch. All the information I got was that all the tours and lunch were amazing. So if you have a group with stamina to last an entire day I say go for it. =)

We considered it but opted to just go with the VIP Movie Tour instead, which is not one of the options in the package to my knowledge. We purchased the buffet lunch at Kualoa Ranch after our tour and it was excellent! Reasonably priced and good food that is grown and made right on the Ranch.

I will say that it would be a *full* day there. We had to get there at 8:30am for our 9:15am tour and didn't leave until about 1pm. It took us a good 90 minutes to get there from Aulani in the morning rush hour traffic. Since we had the afternoon on that side of the island, we had time to explore and visit Kailua which was cool also.

Anyone done the horseback riding at Kualoa Ranch? My 14 year old daughter wants to do this and me at 52 has never been on a horse and is petrified of doing it. (I am not a horse lover) When I mentioned Kualoa to her I didn't expect her to want to do this.

We were there in April and did the three tour package. We started with the catamaran tour, followed by the jungle tour, and ended with the movie tour. They were all fantastic, but I liked the catamaran tour the best. The view of the mountains from the water was so beautiful! The lunch buffet was served between the second and third tour. We though the lunch was fine. We had a lot of fun throughout the day and felt it was well worth the money!

I've never been to Kualoa, but any commercial trail horse I've ever been on is practically on a track--they are just following the butt in front of them like a zombie. Think of it like a Small World boat, but hairy and better-smelling!!

I was just there on Saturday. I did the Ocean Voyage (catamaran) tour and the Movie Sites and Ranch tour. I really enjoyed both! I would have liked to do the jungle tour also, but decided I needed to leave a little something for next time :) Don't wear light clothing though, because it is very dusty while you are on the movie sites tour. The buses are old school buses minus the windows and door. The roads are dirt roads, and the ATV zipping around create quite a but if dust, also.

Because you schedule specific times for these tours, I would suggest going on Saturday. I have learned that it is better to spend weekdays at Aulani and use the weekends (when the resort is packed!!!) for touring. An additional benefit of that is less traffic :)
