hmm..i see a lot of people talking about this...what is it? is it just your room key, but with a fancy disney-fied name?

it's more than just your room key.,.. yes, it gets you into your room/cabin, but on board, you use it to charge everything to your cabin, souveniers, drinks, bingo, etc....and I believe you use it on Castaway Cay as well. Just not on any shore excursions.

I was wondering about that too. Thanks for clarifying.

TinkerbellRN-I love that line about men you have on your signature line. I agree totally!! :) :) :)

But most important of all - it lets you on and off the ship. If you are planning to get off in port you must have your KTTW card or you can not get off.
The charging privledge can be removed from your child's card - just ask it to be removed at Guest Services once on board.

Here is a pic of what a KTTW card looks like.

Even though it says WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT on the top....the same cards are used on the cruise. I believe the new design has tinkerbell on them and are a lavendar color. These cards also give you information like what Table you are assigned at dinner and what dinner rotation you have onboard.

But, if you are doing a land/sea combo, your KTTW card when you check in at WDW will not have dining info on them.....and you will use that same card for use aboard the ship...you do not get a new one at the terminal.

It also opens and locks your in room safe that is located in the closet. The KTTW card that locks the safe, has to be the one used to open it up again.

Also if you are doing a land/sea package it will be your entry pass into the parks.. hense key to the world...

hey i recognize that blue card, it's the same one we had when we stayed at CBR a few years ago. it's all coming together now lol .
while i have your attention...
dining rotations? someone want to explain that to me? we're cruising on the wonder for 3 days.

Both the wonder and the magic have three main restuarants. There is also a buffet (topsiders magic, beach blanket wonder) an Ice cream stand, a hotdog/pizza burger place and the adult only (reservations required) Palo. Each night on a Disney cruise you will rotate between the three main restaurants., you will have the same table number tablemates and wait staff you just switch diningrooms. Each restaurant is unique in it's decor and menu. When you get your key to the world card your dining rotation will be noted on it. for example it may say TPA, which would mean triton's, parot cay and then animators palet. you would eat the first night in triton's and so on... you of course can select room service , pluto's dog house, the buffet or palo instead of your rotational dining.

So does that mean for the dining rotation, the first restaurant you will be dining in it for a total of 3 nights for a 7 day cruise? Also what is everyone's favorie restaurant, and why?

Thanks

For the seven dy cruise you will rotate from the first rest. through third and then back through as far as you can go..
for example you may have.. palpalp.. which means parrot cay, annimators, lumineres, parrot cay, etc,,, the differnce on the seven day is there is a special menu on the other nights that is served in ALL the restuarants.......

can a hole be punched in this card and it be hung around the neck? Or will this not work with a hole in it...

THanks~

From what I understand, if a KTTW card has a whole punched in it, then it can not be used to my any purchases on the ship.

I know some parents do this so that their children do not run up high onboard charges.

I was trying to think, type, and talk to Shirley on the phone all at the same time. I was doing a "whole" lot of things at once, and I guess the "hole" in my brain was leaking, LOL!!!

Now, that's interesting...My land/sea package does not include entry to the parks....hmmm

Well I know when we did a land/sea package the park admission was part of the deal . you got an unlimited hopper plus for length of stay. We did four days park at the poly and then three days on the cruise. Did you book it as a land/sea package with DCL?
