Kroger - Disney Gift Cards Save $5

DH and I did something similar for our trip this past Christmas. Giant Eagle was running double fuel perks on $50 or more gift cards. We ended up buying all the GCs in both stores in our town. We took them to WDW and it was a stack about 5 inches thick. We just put everything on our key to the world card... meals and souvenirs and then payed it at the end. Each gift card comes out as a payment on your bill. The poor CM was there forever but thought it was very amusing and better than dealing with yelling customer in the next line.

I bought two packs today and there were tons left at our Kroger (in the Indianapolis area). The store ad says the deal expires today, but the flyer above the gift cards says it's going on until the 7th. Might have to go back tomorrow and get some more.

Maybe you could go and scan one and see if it spits out a coupon. If it doesn't just tell the cashier you changed your mind.

You can't return the gift cards. The coupon won't spit out until you have paid and by that point the cards will have been activated.

That's not how it worked with my purchases, the second the GCs were scanned the $5 voucher came out of the Catalina machine.....

Mine spit out as soon as you scan the gift card...I just went and bought one more pack and used the coupon on that purchase. Only bought the gift and used the coupon so, I paid $40.

I was in my Plano Kroger today and the PA had an announcement about the $5 bonus coupon when purchasing certain gift cards and they mentioned that the DISNEY gift card was included in the promotion. I gave it a try and the coupon printer at the check out spit out the $5 coupon!

Just got back from Kroger and got their two last packs of Disney cards. Promo ends tonight and I was able to get a total of 8 packs, saving $40. . Thanks again!!!!

Unfortunately, the 5 Food 4 Less stores I called said they do not even stock Disney gift cards. They only had the Starbucks, itunes, applebees and blockbuster. I just noticed on the Kroger website that it reads "Disney card (not available at Food 4 Less Ca and MW) I assume MW means midwest. What a bummer

Where in Indy did you get them? DH bought out all 4 of our local Krogers of the GCs and none of the stores had a lot.

Ads run differently in different parts of the country so it probably depends where you live.

Good point. Ads here run through Sat. so I guess I'll just be happy with what I was able to get.

I booked hotel for our upcoming trip this evening and paid the deposit with 9 $15 gift cards. The CM was very nice and didn't balk at the number of cards.

I put a rubber band around the cards I used and attached a note that said that they were used for the deposit. I am going to save the used cards just in case. If we had to cancel our reservation I suspect they would return the deposit to the original form of payment, which means they would put $15 back on all 9 cards. If that's the case, I'd better still have the cards in my possession! Don't throw out the gift cards until you are absolutely sure you are done with them.

At our stores most were out of the 3 pack or only had a couple so I asked if they would let me buy the $25 cards or $50 for the same discount $50 off every $450 and they said yes I did this at 3 different Kroger and paid off our trip. It took lots and lots of cards, but it saved us about $375.
Just save all the cards if any part needs to be refunded then it will go back on each card just like I paid so I have lots of cards to hold on to

WOW...this sounds like some trip!! Great that you were able to do this with the GCs!
