Kristen & Doug's Wedding: 5.5.12 - TR Day 3 (Updated 6.14)

You look sooooo beautiful in your dress!!

The invites look great!

I'm in love with Penny! I've always wanted a boxer (and any other kind of dog or cat or monkey or whatever)!!!

You have a boxer!!! Penny is such a cutie! My family has 3 boxers and they are like our babies. :)

Oh, and your dress is beautiful!

Aww, thank you! :cutie:

I wish I had a way to record Penny. She 'talks' sometimes, with her voice going up and down as if she were an excited teenager, and I'm describing it terribly, but she's really a hysterical dog.

Thanks! And Penny is definitely the most spoiled dog we've ever had!

Thank you! :goodvibes

It's March 1st.

This makes May 5th 65 days away.

:scared1:

The dress fitting/alterations are this afternoon (They got pushed back, as the woman didn't realize last week was school vacation week). This probably means I should get out of pajamas soon. (I kinda wish pajamas were socially acceptable to wear in public :lmao:)

Let's see...last week, I got an email from my bank saying there was some suspicious activity on my card. Turns out someone from Luxembourg had a field day at an Apple store, spending $500. :scared1: I told the woman on the phone, "I have a Disney wedding to pay for, I've never been to Europe, and I don't own anything Apple." Thankfully, I'm completely covered, but I'm still waiting for my replacement card to come in, which is holding up paying off Disney! I'm also still waiting to fill out the paperwork for the fraud department, too. :rolleyes1

Doug's best man finally booked his hotel - and thank the gods, he's staying at CB as well. This means that the boys can get ready there as well, so everyone will be there that morning. I FINALLY heard back from two of the guests we were waiting on - does no one read the "RSVP by" date? I'm kinda annoyed that I wasted my stamps! :confused3 So I was able to send out the last invite to my cousin and her family, and since they'll be using their military discount, they'll likely stay at CB as well (since PC is booked up for that and since her mom <my aunt that's going> is staying there) which means I might not need to get additional transportation, thus saving us some money! Longest sentence EVER! :rotfl: Karen sent me our list of options for transportation since Doug's family is staying off-property (:rolleyes1), but I'm hoping if we only have the one Disney pick-up location that maybe we won't have to use it. Everyone cross your fingers and toes for us! ;)

And on the subject of the MIL, she emailed me with a list of restaurants in the Orlando area that she could get discount gift certificates to - like Amici's and Outback Steakhouse. Um, no. This is my wedding and honeymoon. Not to sound all bridezilla-y, but I'm not eating at a place I wouldn't go to on a regular ol' night, when I struggled to choose places to make reservations for at Disney. Holy flying monkeys!

Let's see... I emailed the Etsy seller that I ordered the rhinestone iron-on transfers from. She says that she mailed them out on the 14th priority mail, yet the tracking number comes up with that the post office has been "notified of their impending shipping". I ordered them back in January. I told her, hey, if there's a problem, please refund my money, and I'll order them elsewhere. In good Etsy news, the garter that I ordered on the 16th of February arrived on the 24th. :) Running out of time, so hopefully this link will work - http://www.etsy.com/transaction/72877753. Otherwise I'll post a pic later. It's totally not what I was looking for, but I fell in love with it's adorableness. :goodvibes

My updated to-buy list:
-Doug's shirt, coat, dress shoes!
-my ring
-strapless bra. Any suggestions for a comfortable brand?
-new sneakers for Disney (why did Nike have to stop making the kind I love?! :headache:)
-a carry-on size suitcase. Too many breakables going down to FL!

Alright, time to get out of pajamas, I guess!

Hope your first fitting goes well! I picked up my dress on Saturday and have my first tailor appointment this coming Monday. Is it bad that the seamstress receptionist was more panicked about the time frame than I am? :rotfl:

So for bra's...I have a MEGA recommendation. Go to Nordstrom and get fitted. I can't believe how amazing this experience was for me. I was really nervous about doing it, since the last time I was fitted I was 12 and some old angry Russian lady was yanking, grabbing, yelling...LOL I just did this a few weeks ago and was blown away at how much difference a good, well fitting bra makes! I look thinner, it doesn't annoy me, it makes my girls look nice and perky. Amazing. Now, I'd always heard "Most woman wear the wrong bra" And I guessed I was one of them, but had no idea JUST how bad my bras were until my fitting. I was waaay off.

Anyway, I got a corset and strapless. Brands are Elomi and Wacoal. Now, these bras are not cheap. But don't you want your girls to look great on that day? No one wants to be tugging at a bra all day. Good luck!! :thumbsup2

Helloooo twin!!
65 days, can you believe it!!! :scared1: Crazy!
I'm glad we're slightly on the same timeline- I tried my dress on yesterday but didn't do any alterations yet- I need to find some shoes!!

Ugh that someone went on a shopping spree on your card, that stinks!! :( Glad it's all being sorted out. I had someone get my card # somehow in CA once on Christmas Eve and go crazy buying online from Jesus.com or the like and Wal-mart!! lol The bank handled it quickly and got me a new card to use- hopefully you get it all settled quickly!

Your RSVP date alraedy came?? We just got our first one back today! lol Our RSVP date is 3/23... and people better reply by then!! :rotfl: That is great the BM booked his room with you! I have a block at PC, the military rate is likely better but let me know if you need help. We blocked like 60 something rooms, and 3/4 of our guarantee was met with DVC reservations so I still have a bunch of rooms open until 4/5! :goodvibes

Yay on the garter- it's super cute!! Where the heck are those transfers?? I need to get some of those and get crafty soon!

I have also heard fittings at Nordstrom are eye-opening, do it!! ;)

Wooo!!! Only 65 days!!!

I'm sorry about your fraud alert. That stinks! You must have been really stressed out. And stupid etsy seller!

Doug's mom sounds like a piece of work. Just. Sayin. :lmao: Who wants to go to Outback when they could go to Disney?!?! People are so weird.

I am excited for your alterations, and for more stuffs!

The woman asked when I needed it by, and I explained that I'm shipping it down to FL, so the first fitting is the 9th of this month, and then I can pick it up either the Thursday or Saturday after that. She was totally fine with it. I think my mom was more nervous! (And I'm so relieved; I think my mom's paying for it! :woohoo:)

I can totally picture a fitting with a little old Russian lady, having worked a little old Russian lady before! :lmao: (I do say that sentence with love. Ella was hysterical to work with) I checked out the Nordstrom site, and that Wacoal one seems pretty decent. I figured I'd be paying a decent amount, but you made me think it'd be like $100! Perhaps I can convince Doug to drive over to Providence this weekend (we don't have any at the local malls). Thanks for the tip! The last strapless one I bought was a nightmare!

What a cutie garter!!! You're getting so close and I can't wait to see more :)

Doug's mom sounds like a piece of work. Just. Sayin. :lmao: Who wants to go to Outback when they could go to Disney?!?! People are so weird.

I just wanted to say that I laughed out loud at this. Funny because it's true? :rotfl:

I think I need to return my shoes for a smaller size actually. Man, Doug's gonna love all the mall-time this weekend! ;) Have you looked on Shoe Buy? They had a pretty wide selection, and have a really nice return policy, too.

I had the RSVP date early, so that way I could send out "round two", since we're so limited on guest space. I really wish either flights were cheaper or that the country was rearrangeable. Some of my favorite people are out in CA and it's just not possible for them, either money-wise or kid-wise, to come out to the east coast. *sigh*

Thanks for the heads up about the room block. I know the military discount is out for PC since it's all booked, but I'll let my cousin know that it's still an option. (Unless they're still considered FL residents? I don't know how the military has them listed) Hopefully the Air Force will let them have some time off!

I figure the transfer girl has until next Wednesday to contact me; after that, I'm complaining to Etsy and wanting my money back. I'm like the last person to ever complain about things, but this is just ridiculous!

Ah, Jackie, you worded it so perfectly. We've told her this before, when she spoke of making appetizer-y type food at the timeshare for RIGHT AFTER THE WEDDING. *There's no appropriate smiley for my flailing hands* I just don't get it! Thank goodness there's alcohol at Epcot; I keep reminding myself of this. :lmao:

Thanks! And I was totally laughing out loud at that, too. (And totally true! ;))

YAY for 65 days!

I wish PJs were socially acceptable too, lol.

Oh no! So sorry to hear about the Luxembourg incident! I'm glad they took care of it no probablem.

Glad to hear that most everyone is booked! Crossing my fingers!

Uhh.. you're totally not being a bridezilla by not wanting to eat at restaurants from home. Thanks MIL but no thanks!

Can't wait to see your dress!!

Okay, I take back some of my complaining about Doug's mom, because in her email today, she just mentioned giving us some money to put towards the wedding. She didn't say how much, but she said that she originally was going to pay for our airfare, but since we had already bought that, we could put it towards something else.

In the ever-continuing saga of the rhinestone transfers, I went onto Etsy today to look into filing a complaint, when I decided to click on the tracking numbers, so that I could copy/paste what it said on the website. Lo and behold, the girl actually shipped the transfers on March 2nd! :scared1: Mind you, I ordered them on January 26th. She's definitely not getting positive feedback; I don't care that she 'upgraded' me to priority mail shipping. I ordered my garter on February 16th and received it on the 24th

So, I wound up going with the Wacoal one - holy moly, my ****s look fantastic! :lmao: I didn't get measured; the girl that was there wasn't overly friendly and I felt awkward. Even as it was, I had to ask for help, and she gave me three different sizes - the 38C that I asked for, but also a 36DD and a DDD. I'm a B normally. :rolleyes1 But anyways. Thank you for the suggestion. It'll still take some getting used to (I never wear underwire bras), but I do quite like it!

Tomorrow marks me and Doug's two year anniversary. :lovestruc Since we were in Providence on Friday night, I decided to surprise him by taking him out to dinner. I was thinking back to our first non-lunch date - we went to see Tim Burton's 'Alice in Wonderland', and it amused me that our first date was to see a Disney movie. And now we're two months out from getting married at Disney. :goodvibes

The ticker below doesn't say two months anymore. It freaks me out a little bit every time I see it.

I got the rhinestone transfers. ONE OF THEM IS WRONG. :headache: I remember specifically asking how much it would cost for the 'bride' and for the 'maid of honor' transfers. Guess what I got for transfers? "For the bride" and "maid of honor". Are you effing kidding me?! I emailed her on Monday, saying that I'll return the stupid one and that I want my money back. No response yet - BIG SURPRISE! How do I go about filing a formal complaint with Etsy? This is getting to be some serious bullpoopy. :sad2:

Anyways! The point of this update. Back in December, I got my engagement ring in. And it killed my fingers. I've got arthritis in both hands (I'm convinced that I'm made from recycled parts) and having such a wide ring just wasn't working. So, I have this one now, and I've been wearing it for a few weeks without any issue, therefore I can share it ;)

I tried to get Penny to pose with me, but I think she was irritated that I interrupted the early afternoon nap...

:goodvibes

I still haven't found a wedding ring for myself yet, but hopefully with Doug's paycheck at the end of this month! (And let's keep our fingers crossed, since his annual review should be happening soon, too!)

I go on Saturday for the dress fitting and if everything's good, she'll be ready for pick up the following week! :woohoo:

Awww, your new engagement ring is purty! Congratulations, and I am glad this one doesn't hurt your fingers. :)

I am still in love with your doggie.

And WHAT THE HECK, RHINESTONE TRANSFER LADY!!!! This is seriously ridiculous. Who did you use again so I can make sure I don't order from them???

I forgot to comment but YAY! on FMIL giving you monies.:banana:

Your ring is beautiful! And have I mentioned that Penny is super cutie? I have boxers and they are my absolute fave :lovestruc
