Krispy Kremes

They just don't have them everywhere yet. I'm able to get them when I go on business trips. However, there aren't any local places that have them and the nearest place for me is an hour away. It's just a good treat to get em when you can. Last time I was in MN to visit relatives and when we were in Vegas we got some at the Excalibur fresh right off the line.

I was in Minneapolis on business when the KK opened in MN! It has been a few months since then and I hope that the hype has died down. There were traffic helicopters and people were waiting literally hours for them! In fact later that week I visited a friend up in that direction and I said "no problem, I'll stop for Krispy Kremes on the way to your house, the crowds will have died down by now..." (which was a few days later and in the evening) - NOPE! When I drove by I saw several traffic cops and, no joke, signs to the shuttle parking! Yep, they were having people park off site and shuttling over to the store! Needless to say, I did not bring Krispy Kremes to my friend that evening. I love 'em, but I have my limits.

The Northeast is Dunkin Country. Corporate is in MA. I thought that 2 KK were to open in RI last year but not sure it happened.

There are some Starbucks but when there is DD on every corner it's a tough market to get in to. Many HoneyDew Donuts have gone under.

Krispy Kreme and Dunkin Doughnuts are not even the same animal (pastrie)! They cannot be compared! We Southerners have been have Krispy Kreme attacks for years! There is a reason KK is in the Smithsonian.

Wasn't that crazy when we visited. Just drove through the drive through and out in a few seconds.

Agree with you there! Just had a dunkin for bfast this morning and a plain glazed donut looks so much different from a perfectly round and perfectly glazed KK.

We have had KK for over 50 years. It will never die down. They have just started expanison in the USA during the last few years. When they went public not to long ago, there stock went through the roof. On my side of town had to be without KK for 3 weeks because they moved to a new store. It was the first time since the 50's that we could not get KK's. Had to drive across town. When the hot and now sign lights up people slam on brakes. Department 56 (christmas villages) now offers a light up snowy KK. It is cool. Try a search on the web for "salem creek" if you want to see it.

all this talk over KK. I live near Buffalo NY and we have had a KK for over a year and they just opened a 2nd one last month. I thought we were always the last for everything lol.......they are good ................

They had Krispy Kremes at Chef Mickey's breakfast buffet in April. On last week's Sex and the City there was a really funny bit about Krispy Kremes

These replies are great! this is my whole reason for wanting to try one...all the hype! KTeacher, I heard that Chef Mickeys had them...about a week after our last trip when we ate at Chef Mickeys! I even saw the donuts there but didnt take one. If only I had known!!!!
