I know there's a lot of interest in Krispy Kreme doughnuts on these boards, although I've not tried them myself. So I thought I'd let you know that next Wednesday (17th) BBC2 has a programme called Fat Profits about the company. (at 7:30pm)

The blurb in the radio times also states that KK are planning to open 25 stores in the UK.

Oh No!! 25 stores..... I think I'd better start dieting!

Thanks for letting us know!

Richard. :)

Steph speaks the truth! Stay away from them for verily, they are the food of the Devil!

We tried the concession in Harrods last Christmas and they are absolutely fantastic!

LOL! In all our trips to the States, we'd never tried a Krispy Kreme. However, we decided to put that right this last trip and stopped off at the new location next to the Mall at Millenia. I don't even like sweet things and I'm hooked! Need a sugar fix...

Mmmm, do-nuts!

How sad are we? We put the camera on top of the car and set the timer!

Here's the first attempt. You can't tell, but we're all creased up.

Krispy Kremes seems an odd name for something doughy and soft. Anyone know why they are called this? I saw the programme (but missed the beginning). I'm a bit of a dougnut fan (and look like it too!!!).

I don't know where they got the name, but my favourites were the ones with a synthetic cream filling and an icing sugar glaze - I would definitely describe those as Krispy Kreme!

I have never had one.....how do they compare to Dunkin Donuts...which are delish!::yes::
I've never tried a Dunkin Donut. I hate doughnuts over here and only tried a Krispy Kreme because it seemed churlish not to! Well, we'd made a special trip...:o It's the freshness of them which is the key, which I guess is the same for DD. You can buy KK ring donuts in the supermarkets over there, but they're just not the same (we tried them purely for research purposes, you understand).

If you want the best doughnuts in the world - go to the High Street in Newtown (just outside Philadelphia in Pennsylvania) and find the Starbucks coffee shop. They definitely sell the best fresh doughnuts in the universe!

Speaking of Starbucks.....I just adore their coffee frapuccino...it is always my treat in the airport!!!!!(and if it's Orlando airport, I just adore those cinnamon buns you can get!!!):bounce: :Pinkbounc
