On our last trip we LOVED Ohana. It was a bit chaotic but the food was our favorite. We are planning a whirlwind trip for January and I am doubting I will get an Ohana ressie.

How similar is Kona's menu? I looked online and saw similar things but from descriptions they didn't seem exact.

Any insight? Kona might work well for us since we could do a lunch.

Ok, but they both have salads, potstickers, noodles and meat. Just wondering if those were similar recipes to what is served at Ohana
I'm wondering this exact same question??? I LOVE the potstickers at Ohana, are those the same and can you get the peanut and sweet and sour sauce? I see they have chicken wings on the menu also at Kona, are those the same?

I haven't been to 'Ohana yet, we are going for breakfast in 12 days though! However, just wanted to say that I highly recommend Kona. I went last trip and loved the menu so much we are going back!

It's as different as different can be. They do have wings, I've never had Konas wings but I don't think they are the same as Ohana wings. Different salad, different meats. I guess you'd still consider Kona "Polynesian" type food but the meals are very different. We love breakfast and lunch at Kona. Never had dinner though at Kona. We enjoyed the food at Ohana but the atmosphere was very weird for 2.

You can get the same wings & bread pudding @ the Tambu Lounge. I wish I could get those noodles somewhere else.
I knew you could get the desert but didn't know the wings. Do you get the peanut and sweet & sour sauces? I just need those potstickers!

We LOVE OHANA for breakfast. We never miss it on any of our trips. TIP: If you can, eat first thing in the morning: 7:30 is the earliest. The food is fresh, the characters are amazing, and the service is amazing. We get there at 7:30 (we take a taxi from our resort right to the front door of the Poly)...are seated by 7:40, done eating by 8:20, on the monorail and at the MK gate by 8:40 for a 9:00 opening. It is a GREAT way to start a day...if you are an early bird :)

Kind of crazy but thought I'd throw it out there... when researching which DVC to stay at for our upcoming trip I noticed that you can get Ohana for room service at the Poly. It was tempting... not all you can eat though, they make you a platter.

We ordered this last September and it was very fresh and good. I would order again in a heartbeat. You definitely don't have to worry about the portion sizes. We ordered for 2 adults, and 2 adults and 1 child ate. It was so much food, we had enough for lunch the next day.

I am going to try to get a couple of days at the 7 month mark at the Poly for our upcoming december trip and I seriously considered this. but then I started looking into the dining plan and would go to the restaurant to save a TS credit. But I love room service and find it is not as bad a value as you'd think (especially for breakfast!)

Denny's vs Chinese counter joint different. Not saying Kona or Ohan are these 2, but they are that polar opposite of each other.

Completely different dining experiences. About the only similarity is that they are both on the Poly 2nd floor and the decor reflects that. Food at Kona is individually prepared (i.e., its not meat on a stick) and there are no loud games going on during your meal.

We LOVE 'Ohana for dinner and Kona for lunch so we can do both. I agree with the others, the experiences, including the food, are very different. Kona is one of our favorite overall restaurants on property, it is great for breakfast, lunch and dinner, but it wouldn't be a trip without 'Ohana for dinner.

I love Ohana it's probably in my top five favorites but we just did Kona last week and we did not like it at all. The potstickers are different the noddles are different. Just about everything is different. I don't know about the deserts did not order any. I will say the banana fosters is the BEST at Ohana. If thinking of the two I would do Ohana. I really don't think we will go back to Kona again. Sorry just not the same and maybe I went into it thinking it was going to be the same looking at some of the items on the menu and that may have set me up for not liking it.
