Kona reviews for dinner?

We'll be trying Kona Cafe for the first time on our upcoming trip and I'm looking for reviews and meal suggestions.

Kona is one of our favorite resturants. Either steak is very good, the wings appy is also good- MY DD still talks about it after a year.
If you enjoy a good cup of coffee order the kona press pot- so good with desert. The lava cake- YUM but like chocolate overdrive order some vanilla ice cream to go with it.
Service has been very good for us also. We always plan at least one meal here per trip

The filet mignon with potatoes and asparagus is really good. I love whatever glaze they put on it. DH really raved about the mahi mahi. We love Kona for all 3 meals!

we LOVED LOVED LOVED kona!! at least I did!!

Here is the post from my trippie where we reviewe it. It's from our first day in disney so scroll towards the bottom and there's tons of pics too. I highly recommend the teriyaki sirloin, the duck dumplings, and the banana creme brulee.

We'll be having dinner there for our third time this August. The pot stickers appetizer are a very big hit with our kids (and grown-ups) -- macadamia nut mahi-mahi very good as well.
Nice tropical cocktails to start your meal -- and some of the best coffee in all of WDW to end it.

We have gone there 3 times in the last year-for dinner. Another vote for the filet mignon; one of the best steaks we have ever had! (And we tried the Yachtsmen steakhouse & it beat the steaks there!) (me, DH & DD) Also, we went with other couples & 3 of them had Teriyaki steak & loved that as well. Lastly, another vote for the press pot coffee. Deb

We are trying Kona for the first time when we go this year too. Thanks for the suggestions! I think it will be a toss up for me between the filet and the teriyaki steak.

We were there Sunday and enjoyed it.

I had the beef terriyaki and DH had the shrimp and scallops. It was good..not exactly fine dining though. My steak was not as tender as what I had at Le Cellier or Jiko, but it was tasty. DH's shrimp and scallops were good, although the portion was a bit small. Overall, we think it's a good choice..not our first choice, but we'd go again.

We LOVE Kona . The prime rib and filet are AWESOME . Kona is a must do for us every trip as it's one of our favorite restaurants

i have an odd question......i booked the kona cafe for dinner when i go in august...mainly because my BF found something he liked and i just want to see the resort....but in terms of drinks....again my BF found some trip of alocholic drink he wants to try ( more like 5 ha) but i only drink bud light (boring i know) i dont see reguluar draft or bottle beer on the menu.,....do they serve it?

Here was our dinner @ Kona:

and I had the mignon

We each had a volcano cake for dessert:

We also had Donna - she was great! Don't know about the beer - we had expensive, alcoholic drinks. I have pix of those too, but don't want to hog the thread... Enjoy!

the wings and the pot stickers are soooo good!! the wings are tangy, but not too spicy and the pot stickers arent too doughy, but nice and thin. I had the scallops and shrimp when i was there in December and there was too much to finish...it was so delicious! and the bread!! the bread and delicious butter they give you is reason enough to go!

Well, the food is good, but I go for the PRESSED COFFEE!! They bring it to the table and it counts as a beverage - and it is the best coffee I have ever had.

We ate there last December and loved it. My wife and I split the sticky wings and the filet and we loved them.
