At the moment we have reservations at both. I booked both after looking at pics on these boards, they looked so yummy and DH and are both big fans of this kind of food.

If you could eat at one, which one would you choose and why.

At the moment I'm thinking of cancelling the Kona ressie. If you disagree, change my mind!!

Thanks in advance.

One of only the three reservations we made this time was for Ohana's. I can't wait!!!

Kona is one of my favorites. I will not go to 'ohana. The last 3 times the service was horrible. (I went that last time with friends who did not believe the service was bad :sad2: they do now!). Based on that and the pretty consistant reviews of bad bad bad service, 'ohana is off my list. Too bad too, I used to really like it

I love the Kona options. I like the shrimp and scallops, but I don't get the shrimp fried, but seared with the scallops. Quite tasty :thumbsup2

If 'ohana is something you really really want to try, go, prepare for the worst and hope for the best and I hope you are pleasantly surprised :)

We also booked an ADR for Ohana's in January. I must admit I'm a little concerned how this will all turn out, but I'm willing to give it a try.

I would keep Kona. I've eaten at both a few times. O'hanna's always makes me feel rushed. You're seated, they take your drink order, then BAM! all of this food is placed on the table. I don't feel like I can relax and enjoy the food and show. They are more like people pushers.

On the flip side, we will be dining at Ohanna's again this next trip, because DH loves the grilled meat. I don't have a problem with the food, just the service.

I love the service and attention we always get at Kona. Our last dinner there, my DD broke her drink glass. There was a lot of glass all over the table. The waiter was there is seconds cleaning it up and even though I was halfway through my meal, he brought me out an entirely new one and a drink.

I always feel more relaxed eating at Kona. It just happens to be one of my favorite places. We're eating there this trip too.

My vote would be for Kona. For us, we like the food much better at Kona over Ohana's. We gave Ohana's another try on our last trip and still were not terribly impressed-the food was okay, but nothing to write home about. It'll probably be a few more years before we return there.

Kona is a new favorite for my DF and I. We ate there in September and loved it! He had the shrimp and scallops and thought it was great! I had the steak and I loved it too! We were also about to get sushi for an appetizer so that was a big plus for us.

My vote would be to keep Kona.

Enjoy your meal, wherever it may end up being!
:thumbsup2

If you're going for the food... keep Kona. If you're going for the fun & atmosphere.. keep 'Ohana.:thumbsup2

We have made 'Ohana our arrival night tradition. I love it. The food is good, the place is fun... and we always have a great time together.

Kona has excellent food, but the service is SLOW (and with 2 little kids it has gotten to be very hard) and the atmosphere is blah. But, the food is EXCELLENT.

It is a hard decision. We did both this last trip, and I'm glad we did, since we enjoy both. But, I'd go for 'Ohana if I had to choose one.;)

I love O'Hana's. The atmosphere and food choices far outweigh the quick service. I love it when the food comes right away. I'm there to eat and eat lots and get back to the parks. I'll relax at the pool. Maybe some of you like the total dining experience of the 'fancy restaurants'.....I don't. Its DISNEY!!!

I went to both during August and I have to say, Kona is the one I rebooked! The shrimp and scallops were awesome! I also really enjoyed the bread and smoothie. It was an all-around delicious meal :P

Kona is our favorite now...topping Le Cellier.
They have amazing bread with macadamia butter...my husband asks for extra butter.
Also the Pan Asian noodles are my favorite and my husband always gets the coconut almond chicken....Last time we said how much we loved it and the chef came out to our table to see us....we love it there.
Desserts: o yeah...banana chocolate creme brulee.....you almost need to be alone to eat this!!
For sure keep this ressie, you won't be disappointed.
I will be eating there next week and it's the one I look forward to most...we also have a breakfast ressie there!!! love it.

The atmosphere at Ohana is much greater than Kona. Food is good at both.

We enjoy both, but in my opinion Kona is one of the most overrated restaurants on this board. I think its reputation grows every time someone posts a bad experience at Ohana.

People say Le Cellier is overrated also but another favorite of ours.
Honestly the food at all these is overrated if you compared them to some non-disney restaurants but quality food is hard to come by at disney.
Everyone like different things thankfully or we'd all be wanting the same adr's.

Perhaps instead of overrated I should have said overrepresented, since I think you can get a good meal and experience. It sure seems to me that there are a lot more "Kona vs. Ohana" posts than, say, "Grand Floridian Cafe vs. 1900 Park Fare."

We had lunch at Kona last week and dinner at Ohana. We all agreed Ohana was the best meal we had all week. Kona was good too, but our service there was terrible.

I definitely vote for Kona's. It's one of my favorites and I try to visit once during every trip. The food is great, restaurant is open and relaxed and the desserts are delicious.

That being said, my husband enjoys Ohana's and I just dont' know why -- perhaps if you're a real meat lover... I dont' find the meat very interesting or flavorful -- it's basically slabs of meat that have been grilled.

We have ate at the Coral Reef, Citricos, Chefs de France, San Angel, Akershus, Restaurant Marrakesh,Teppan Edo, Garden Grill Restaurant,50's Prime Time Cafe, Hollywood and Vine, Mama Melrose, Sci-Fi Dine In, Boma, Rainforest Cafe, Spoodles, Chef Mickeys, Contemporary Steak House(when it was open),Maya Grill, Olivia's Cafe, Captain Jacks, Planet Hollywood, Wolfgang Pucks, Liberty Tavern, Brown Derby,House of Blues, plus many of the quick service restaurants. After 6 great dining experiences at Kona Cafe, we believe it is the best restaurant we have ate at WDW.

Oh man they are both very good restaurants. Is there any way you can do both.

I have to pick Ohanas though only for the bread puding lol. It is heavenly.
