Kona or Cal Grill?

Just wondering whether or not to change our ADR to Kona. I have an ADR right now at CG to see Wishes later but was wondering whether or not to change to Kona.
For anyone who has seen Wishes at CG - do you get a better view than inside MK or just a different view?

We prefer to watch Wishes in the Magic Kingdom. At the CG, the effects of the fireworks aren't as good.

There's no question that CG will be the more upscale meal - more of an "event."

We saw Wishes after dinner from the observation deck right outside CG. While the music was piped in, the fireworks were sort of to the left of the castle, and the view from Main Street with the castle in the foreground is much better.

Still, it was a great evening. We watched the sun set. If we'd had ADRs for just a little earlier, we could've finished dinner and hotfooted it over to MK and watched Wishes from Main Street.

You'll get a fine meal at Kona, too, but comparing the two restaurants is an apples/oranges proposition.

I, too, prefer to watch Wishes in Magic Kingdom. I love seeing the fireworks coming up from behind the castle. It's just so spectacular being in the middle of it all. The view of Wishes from California Grill is nice, but more of a side view.

The combination of a fabulous meal at CG and viewing Wishes is quite memorable. Can't go wrong with a great meal at Kona followed by Wishes at MK either. I hope you get to do it all!

I agree. I love Kona and food there is very good, but its not in the same league as the California Grill. Not even close.
