I hear Kona mentioned on here all the time for breakfast, but what about dinner? Any reviews? Ohana is all booked up for our entire trip and my sister really wanted to eat somewhere at the Polynesian.

I enjoy it. I do get the NY Strip every time, along with the Banana-Chocolate Creme Brulee, and have enjoyed the meal quite a bit. The Hawaiian bread with Macadamia nut butter (on the side) is also very very good.

It's one of the ones that I do every trip (this year will be the 3rd, maybe 4th? year that I've been doing it) for both breakfast and dinner.

Thanks, it seems like every glowing review I found was referring to breakfast. Glad to hear dinner is good too. I think we'll book it!

I enjoy Dinner at Kona far more than I enjoy 'Ohana. I love spending time in the Poly, and Kona is fully exposed to the central atrium of the main building. My only complaint is the lack of theming, but I can get over that. Kona has a full dinner menu of fairly sophisticated offerings, but the restaurant itself is designed like a coffee shop (which it once was). It has all the charm of a tropical Denny's. But the food is far better.

Kona is one of our favorite places to eat and first time ended up there by default. The check in line alone at Ohana was 30 minutes long. We were headed to MNSSHP. My DS ran over to Kona and asked if they had openings and they actually seated us right away. Been going back ever since. Some of the best service we have had, good food and desserts!

We've eaten at Kona for dinner every year since 2007.

There's been a couple of times that the service wasn't up to par, but the food is excellent. Like a PP said the steak is good, the desserts are good, and the bread is good.

We like to choose WDW restaurants for their food. And this place has great food. Plus the Poly is fun to explore.

We LOVE KONA!!! Breakfast, lunch AND dinner!! We much prefer Kona dinner to O'hana.

We try to eat there every trip for at least one meal. ie. Last trip was dinner, our next trip will be breakfast and lunch.

It's making me hungry just thinking about it!!

Starting our trip out at Kona for dinner! Night before we check into CR and hit MK! Plans are to get the bread, wings and two sushi rolls and share the banana chocolate crème brulee and have some cocktails.. Cant wait!!

This banana chocolate creme brûlée sounds right up my alley!

I think Kona is a good choice. The only problem is that when I look at their menu pre-trip, there just isn't anything that really jumps out at me. But when I get there, I usually find something I like.

We've enjoyed our meals here. Though it's not our favorite restaurant and we like to try other places now, you'll find good food here. The desserts were very good. The only thing I didn't like was the atmosphere (which is picky, I know, because in the end the food is the top priority). The open area that looks out into the rest of the resort was odd to us. It gave us the feeling of eating in a mall food court. Didn't like that at all.

We had a delicious dinner at Kona a few weeks ago. I think we all went a little crazy with the bread and that perfect butter, but in all honesty, it was worth it! :thumbsup2

We each ordered different things, but we all liked what we chose. I had the pan-roasted chicken and really enjoyed it.

FWIW, I had read on The Dis that you could request the bread pudding from 'Ohana. Our waitress was more than willing to do this, which for me, just made it that much sweeter. :cool1:

Have eaten at Kona. Will be planning 2 weeks at WDW. Have already made ADRs for 2 breakfasts, 1 lunch and 1 dinner at Kona. "nuf said?

I love dinner at Kona. The bread and butter is awesome. I love the noodle bowl

Have resies for kona dinner for upcoming trip in september. On dining plan. My dd 12 is a realy fussy eater - is there anything there for her to eat?
Also, can we order for her from child menu and pay for it while not use her ts meal from dining plan?

Yes, you can pay out of pocket for her. This is what we plan on doing for our breakfast here. Well, we are planning on getting three or four entrees and sharing (there are 5 of us) and paying oop for it all. However, since your DD is 12, I don't think she will be allowed to order off the children's menu. In Disney a child is an "adult" at age 9.
