Kona for breakfast? What's your opinion?

Kona is one of our favorite places for breakfast. I always have to have famous Tonga Toast and pressed coffee pot. The atmosphere there is just so relaxing, which is a great way to start a day at WDW!

We love Kona breakfast. It's a must do for us every trip. I could easily share a Big Kahuna platter with DS and be really be full with it. Love the pressed kona coffee. We usually pay OOP and share our meal here since portions are big and price is relatively cheap compared to other meals.

Loved the Tonga Toast and coffee. Also loved not being in the long and slow moving line of folks with ADRs at 'Ohana.
:thumbsup2

Quick question about the pressed coffee pot...it is something you share or should my husband and I both order our own? We are eating at Kona and I am definitley getting the coffee this time!

DO IT!!!! its great! i have gone twice and it never gets boring. i always get the macadamia nut pancakes with the sausage links (more like logs if you ask me). everyone else in my family ususally get tonga toast. i dont get it because im not a big fan o bananas. but if those werent in it, it would be awsome! my dad has gotten the big kahuna. its very filling he says. lots of variety too. JUST GO!!!!

Another Tonga Toast:worship: lover here...the Macadamia pancakes are good too and so is the coffee there.

The Pressed Pot of coffee is enough for 2.:thumbsup2

Kona sounds like a great option for breakfast!

Question: My family (4 adults) is not on the dining plan, so we pay OOP. We also tend to share meals, so we don't stuff ourselves full of food to the point where it becomes necessary to roll us over to the monorail . So, are the portions at Kona large enough to share a couple of things and keep us satisfied until lunch?

Enough said :thumbsup2 Tonga is the best. I just had it for the first time last year and it is in the line up for this year. My dad had the Big Kahuna and hubby had the pineapple macadamia pancakes. Not one complaint from our group. :yay:

Enjoy

We love the Kona breakfast. We have 2 breakfasts booked there for our upcoming trip. I personally go for the Tonga toast and DH gets the Big Kahuna.

LOVE!! It is a must do every trip! It did not disappoint last week for hubby's birthday breakfast. He had the Big Kahuna, I had Tonga Toast and we had the fruit plate for the table... a lot for our 2 year old.... it is all wonderful, best breakfast EVER!!

Kona is a great option...my wife and I will be eating breakfast there on 2-3 occasions during our next trip in August. :thumbsup2

I love Kona for breakfast. Here is a suggestion: you can get their Tonga Toast from Captain Cooke's, the CS place downstairs. I won't "waste" a trip to Kona to get it again knowing I can get it downstairs for less and it's just as good. My friend had the pancakes and loved them.

It was my DH's favourite breakfast on our last trip. We shared the Big Kahuna and the Tonga Toast. DH loved the pancakes. It was a nice change from all of the buffet breakfasts we do. The service was good too. I'm glad I tried the Tonga Toast but I wouldn't get it again.

We stayed at the Poly in 2009 and had Kona for breakfast three times. I love the macadamia pancakes! The portions are good sized and service was always good. Best of all, for a table service, it's surprisingly affordable. I like the buffets but $30+ a morning starts to take a real bite. Kona is good food at a good price.

We have another 3 Kona breakfasts scheduled for our trip this August!
