We enjoyed Kona Cafe for breakfast...never tried it for dinner. Can we hear some of your experiences please?!
Thanks!

We finally tried it for dinner a couple of years ago and now it's a must do for us. We have so many favorites..CG, Narcoossee's, etc. that it takes something for a new one to surplant old favorites. I love the macadamia crusted mahi mahi and the veggies that accompany it. One son loves the ahi tuna. Everything we've tried has been excellent. The prices are perhaps $10/entree lower than other comparible restaurants. 13 days from now I hope to have dinner there!

Kona Cafe is great for lunch or dinner. My DH loves the Beef Teriyaki.

One of our favorite dinner spots. DS loves this one also. We usually have the sticky wings and pot stickers for appetizers. Salmon is great as is the pasta/noodle dishes. Desserts are made right in front of you by the pastry chef. My DS gets the ice cream cone M&M sundae every time. Food quality is great and service wonderful.

Their food is awesome! I had filet with wasabi mashed potatoes on our last trip. Those were the best potatoes I ever had! Don't even get me started on the koko puffs...OMG, absolute heaven!

We tried Kona Cafe for our arrival night last October---we loved it so much we went back another night! My reviews:
Night 1:
I had the Prime Rib with smashed potates and julienned veggies. What can I say- I was starving and it was fabulous! The Prime Rib was marinated in an Asian flavoring, but not overpowering...the potatoes were red potatoes with their skins left on...the veggies still crisp yet tender. I had a Kona Sundown to drink and it was tasty! The entree was $20.
My Mom had (this was our mother daughter trip- oh so fun!) the shrimp and scallops with rice and a slaw. She loved her meal as well- she liked that the slaw was more of a vinegar than a mayo slaw.

Night 2: I had the veggie spring rolls- two HUGE rolls filled with crisp, flavorful vegetables. these are deep fried, but they don't feel heavy or greasy at all. They were my favorite meal of the trip! Came with two dipping sauces- a hot one and a more traditional plum sauce. It was $13 or $14.
Mom had the chicken stir fry- again, flavorful, crisp veggies with the right amount of chicken and great looking noodles.

You get an assortment of breads and a big rice cracker to begin with.

Both times we did not wait- the first night (a Friday) we had a PS, second night (a Wednesday) we did not. Both times service was quick, friendly and efficient. It is a must do from now on!

I think the Kona has become a tradition for our first night's meal. At least I'm hoping it's becoming a tradition.

It's a nice way to start off the trip because it usually isn't too crowded and the food is always excellent. I usually have the fish (due to food allergies I usually speak to the chef. Chef Bubba always gets a big thumbs up from me). We've eaten dinner there probably 3-4 times and have never had a bad meal.

....just in case you are too full AFTER your meal. Kona is great.

We also have never been for dinner and only have gone for breakfast. I can obviously not do a review for dinner but I can do a review about their desserts. We try and go at least once later in the evening for only dessert and it is soooooooo good. Love it!!! In the end we are causing some misery because we are pumping my daughter full of sweets before bed, but I don't care. We just go back to the room, put our DD in her pajamas and go for a couple last spins around the lagoon on the monorail (we stay at the Poly). We go in Sept and the crowds are extremely light and we generally have a monorail care to ourselves by 10:00pm. Anyway, if you don't have a chance to go for dinner, go for desserts - yummy!!!!!!!!!!!!

We had dinner at Kona on our last trip, and really did not enjoy it. I had a seafood entree, and all I remember about it was gross scallops - they definetly weren't fresh. The entire meal just seemed to be lacking, and it was our first time dining there. Dessert was excellent, though. I probably won't go back for dinner, but I am open to trying the place for lunch sometime.

We really like it and often eat there once a trip. We're not there at real busy times and have been able to get a reservation on a few hour's notice.

Our favorites: wings, steaks of any kind, scallops (and other things I just can't recall).

I love Kona. Gimme the ahi tuna and a wasabi Bloody Mary.

We were there Thanksgiving Week and it got 4 thumbs up from our family. DH is vegaterian (but will rarly eat fish) and loved it. He actually had a choice on the menu! DD's liked the kids choices and all the unbrellas the waitress put in their drinks!. The service was great! We are going back!

We went there in December and loved it! We ate there before going to MVMCP and had a great time. The service was fantastic, we were seated very promptly. I had the Asian pasta and my DBF had the mahi-mahi. I have to say that coffee and dessert were the best part of the meal! We shared Koko Puffs and the white chocolate cheesecake... Yummy!

My DW and I dropped in on Valentine's Day (night) 3 minutes before it stopped seating (10:00pm). We had an absolutely awesome meal...the best of our trip. We have eaten there before and I find the dinners much better than the breakfasts. Even at that late hour, the service, food quality, and overall experience were top-notch. I would definitely recommend this restaurant.

My DS and I had dinner at the Kona Cafe last June. It was the first time that we ate there and it was AWESOME!!!!!!!
I had to order another appetizer because my DS devoured the one that we were supposed to share.
We also enjoyed our main meals. Everything was great.
A definite for our dinner list for our next trip.
