Is that one of the dessert options for a child on the dining plan? It looks so neat! We would be there for lunch (if that makes a difference).

This USE to be on the kids' menu and was called the Kidde Kone, but was moved to the adult menu as the Kona Kone now. We get it and let the kids help with it. If you're on the ddp, you can always get it and give it to your kids and take their desert instead.

Thats seriously ridiculous! What a waste of food! Does anyone really eat that AFTER a meal? Disney surely makes some pretty stuff, but nothing is practical. I couldnt even imagine sharing it after an entree. It looks like an entire package of MMs, a large cotton candy and super sized ice cream.

Its about a halloween sized pack of mms, a handful of cotton candy and 2 scoops of ice cream. They do not pack the cone it just sits on the top. I eat a full meal at kona and a good 2/3 of this after and I'm a very light eater usually. Its just that yummy and its Disney so its a fun treat!

When was this picture taken?

I was wondering that myself. It doesn't look quite like the one I had in January. Mine was a little more "toned" down. But still had the basic elements. It's fun to eat. There is always room for ice cream.

I ate it last week after my steak dinner. :thumbsup2

But it has been toned down quite a bit, Disney gives a lot less now with the cone then they use to.

Thanks to the dining plan.

I was just going to say the recent pictures ive seen are really scaled back.
still going to get one though :thumbsup2

Dining plan or economy... I know many restaurants are cutting back on portion size to avoid price increase. At many of the Mcdonalds here, they used to stuff the fries in the holders to the point of overflowing and have cut back significantly. Lesser cuts of meat, fewer sides, cheaper fish are all tricks of the trade.

Last year I offered our 7 year-old granddaughter my dessert credit (a Kona Cone) while I ate her children's sundae. Her 10 year-old sister was on the adult plan so she had her own Kona Cone. They each almost finished their own cones but we had M & M's and nuts leftover to go back to the room with us.

It really isn't as big as you think. I had one last year and ate every drop except the m & m's and brought the stick of cotton candy back with me. It's a small handful of all the toppings and 2 medium sized scoops of ice cream.

I'm wondering if the cotton candy is still on a stick!

I kinda liked the old style where the cotton candy was on the bottom, so it looked like your cone was sitting on a cloud.

We had one last week (I'll upload the photo as soon as I figure out where DH has hidden them!). It had the cotton candy on the bottom.

We ordered one out of pocket for our children (5&8) to share - it was more than big enough for them! We ended up not being charged - the waiter said it was because it would be too much hassle to put it through our room card on it's own, but I suspect he was really trying to make up for the fact that he forgot my appetiser and there was a bit of hassle getting it!
