I stalked MDE for about 2 weeks to get a 7:35 AM breakfast at O'hana and succeeded. However, since we booked a room discount and Canadian Resident tickets, this meant we did not have Free Dining. I hemmed and hawed, and finally cancelled the ADR for O'hana. I just could not justify at least $60 a person (multiplied by 4 people) for breakfast.

However, I remembered Tonga Toast and how I wanted to try it since I first heard about it. Booking an ADR for Kona Cafe was so easy. Since we decided we were not rope-dropping MK, I decided to book as early as I could get (7:40 or 7:50 am) and we went there. No one was disappointed about the decision!

Tonga Toast was huge and good! Especially with the strawberry sauce provided. My husband ordered the Macadani nut pancakes and we split our plates. Our son ordered the Tonga Toast as well. Our daughter hardly eats breakfast, if at all. The lady who took our orders told her about their seasonal pancake (pumpkin) and offered to provide her a small pancake. I think she charged her the kids' meal price as it was only about $8. The meals all came with a side - bacon or sasauge. I don't recall. I know I had 2 sasauges with mine. Yes, I am spelling that word incorrectly. The food was good and I'm happy we ate here. I couldn't finish all my breakfast. I tried a bite of my daughter's pumpkin pancake and it tasted better than I thought it would.

However, the lady who took our orders told us about a particular shake. She said it was not on the menu but she could order it for us. Chocolate strawberry! How can you go wrong with that?! Now, I was cold (wet hair, air conditioning) but instead of the hot drink I was about to order, my son & I both jumped at the shake. It was delicious! And presented so pretttily! Check it out! By the way, the flower is edible if you want to eat it. :)

If you are on the fence about Kona Cafe - jump and book an ADR! We will happily eat breakfast here again.

Afterwards, downstairs, I asked for directions to the TTC so we could walk there and catch the boat to MK. The guy said why go there, you can catch our boat. I thought it was just for Poly Resort guests but he said no - we could take their boat. So nice and saved us extra steps!

We love this place... The Tonga Toast is a must order for me every time, a few weeks ago we were there and my wife had plans to meet friends so I actually went there by myself !!! Loved it !!!

Something about the atmosphere at Poly causes me to eat breakfast. Love the fresh eggs they use as opposed to the powdered ones served at the other resort eateries. Get there early enough and you can enjoy your newspaper before the crowd descends.

We love Kona! I do miss when they used to have The Samoan on the menu though: pork hash with poached egg and hollandaise. DisneyKitchenMagic has the recipe but hollandaise from scratch is no beginner's task!

I’d suggest putting your WONDERFUL reviews in the Dining reviews thread. Not a lot of reviews come through, and this general thread is more often used for questions. So some people might miss your pics and reviews

Could anyone who’s been there recently confirm that Loco Moco is back on the b-fast menu.
It was taken off a few years ago but noticed it’s back.

This is news to me!!!!! Anyone else???
Who else has gotten this thing??😍😍😍😍

Tonga toast is an absolute must for us every trip. While we do try other locations for breakfast, we come back here every trip. And the shake is as good as it sounds, even at breakfast.

Disney Addicted, you wrote such a nice review of Kona breakfast! So nice to read about people's experiences, especially when they are good! I just wanted to say we ate at Kona for dinner recently and it was one of the best meals of our whole trip. It's somewhat loud and overstimulating at dinner, but the food truly was excellent! So for people interested in Kona, I recommend dinner as well~

I ate lunch at Kona last week. It was ok but the burger was marred by excessively salted fries. Salt is a personal preference and for those of us who have dialled back our usage the amount on the ready salted fries is hideous and ruins the meal.

If you too like less then I'd recommend speaking to your CM first to see if they can hold off the salt.

Ate at Kona for the first time in December as I’d always wanted to try Tonga Toast. It was…okay. I found the service irritating, and the food was just standard. I thought the toast was rather dry and not very exciting. Macadamia nut pancakes were just okay too. Coffee was by far the best part. Overall, I prefer Cracker Barrel by a lot.
