I'm wondering if this restaurant would be a good first night's meal.
We're staying at the Poly August 9-13 and our flight gets in around 5:30.

We'd like to go over to Epcot later in the evening. Does it tend to be a slow service kind of place or a quicker style?
How is the food? What are the standouts?

Thanks everyone!

We thought it had a relaxed atmosphere but service was not slow, if that makes any sense.

We thoroughly enjoyed our meal there. Everything was wonderful. Here's our review, with pics----> Link

We ate there last week & LOVED it  My DH thought his steak was one of the best ones he has ever had. I had the Macadamia Crusted Mahi-Mahi & it was heavenly :goodvibes

It is a relaxed restaurant & everything was spaced perfectly. We were not rushed, but still did not have to wait for anything :)

the food at Kona looks really good! I am so glad that I picked this restaurant for our Sept. trip.

We ate at the Kona Cafe last week and everything was wonderful about it excpet that it was VERY rushed. The waitress wanted our entire order - drinks, wine, appetizers, main course and dessert all chosen immediately when we first sat down!! My husband said that he'd love to go back however we are going to make it clear that we want a leisurely meal. So if your experience will be anything like ours - you will be in and out in no time.

It does make sense and I loved your review with the photos. It looks great.
Very appetizing. Thanks!

The Kona Cafe is my family's favorite all-around Disney resort! :thumbsup2

You'll find pictures of our meals there, from various trips, on my restaurant pages. Here are the links, just scroll down until you see the Kona Cafe pics. Enjoy! :sunny:

Seaspray, I loved looking at your pictures! Everything looks delicious. Thanks for posting the links.
BTW, your family vacation site is terrific. Really helps get me in the mood for our upcoming trip! :goodvibes

DeborahB not to hijack your thread or anything but we too are landing at 5:30 and didn't make any ADR's because we didn't know what time we would get to the resort. We are using a town car service. How long does it take. Can we make a late ADR for that night??

We absolutely loved Kona! It was one of the best meals of our trip! You will love it. Try the sticky wings and the beef terayki. Have a magical trip!:flower3:
