hi tinawv,
I ate at Kona last Feb. and really enjoyed it. I was solo and a walk-in. It was pretty late in the evening and decided to go there last minute. I had to wait just a bit but it was ok, just enjoyed the Poly lobby.
My meal consisted of the pot stickers for appetizer and the shrimp and scallop dinner. The pot stickers were delicious and my main entree was very good. I debated on that or the macadamia crusted mahi-mahi and kind of wished I would have gotten the latter. I don't eat a whole lot of fried foods and the shrimp, although very tasty, got a bit too rich for me. I also had a pina coloda.

The atmosphere is much less than 'Ohana but very peaceful, which I desired. I sat at one of the small tables near the railing overlooking the lobby which was lovely. I am going again in Oct. with family and we already have adr's for breakfast. I can't wait.
Concourse Steakhouse, on the other hand was a disappointment for me. It was my day of arrival in Feb. and was pouring rain. I stayed at the WL and by the time I took ME from airport, checked into the hotel and got a bit settled I was famished to the point of getting ill. I took the boat from WL to CR (remember the rain

) and went to CSH for a late lunch. (It was about 2pm) I went to the podium and asked if they had a table for one. Sure, no problem. I only had to wait about ten minutes. My buzzer went off so I walked back to the restaurant and my waiter walked me to the table (
after rolling his eyes to another CM because I was solo I suppose. He really doesn't know what a good, I mean great tipper I am--seriously) Anyway, he proceeds to seat me in the
CENTER, I mean up on stage, really, of the whole restaurant. It is NOT crowded. I asked if I could have "one of those tables" off to the side possibly and he said those were reserved. (for when, ten o'clock that night??--no one person sat in
any of them during my entire lunch) OK, I will take what I can get. I am at WDW. There were only about eight other tables filled, but with families and convention people, so some big groups. So, I was performing for these pretty good sized groups all by my self--in the spotlight.

I ordered a bowl of onion soup--it was good, and the steak that is on their lunch menu. The steak, to me, had an odd flavor and was not served with anything but onion rings (remember the fried food thing). It was just ok. What I was really down about, though, was the service. Needless to say I am not a big fan of this venue. I know, could have been an off day, give it another try. Maybe, or not.
Sorry this turned into the saga review.
I could just say Kona---YUM
Concourse Steakhouse---not so much

--don't know how he fits into my story but he's cute.
