Is it hard to get a walk up for breakfast here or should I make a reservation? I dont know if we will want a sit down breakfast on a particular day so should I chance it? And if I do make a resevation do I need to cancel by a particular time if we choose not to use it?

I've always had no problem walking up to Kona for breakfast. I'd say the earlier, the better. If you make a ressie and decide not to use it, just call and cancel it at your earliest possible convenience. The macademia nut pancakes are to die for!!

I think it depends on tme of year too. If you are going at Christmas, you might have a problem, but take this past weekend, I got online and made a reservation for Sunday breakfast at 10:45 am from my room at midnight the night before.

They were taking walk-ups too that morning.

Oh and i am a Tonga Toast fan, even though i can only eat about 1/4 of it!

we went to Kona Cafe for breakfast in January (not holiday week) They would gladly have taken walk-ups...there were only 3 tables occupied at 8:30 when we left.

Food was excellent, as was the coffee. LOVED the Big Kahuna breakfast. Service was great too.

If you do make a reservation and decide not to use it, he polite thing to do is call Dining as soon as you are aware you will not be using it. This will clear it out of the restaurant's list and show an availability for a walk-up if needed.
