Based only on the food...which breakfast is better?

(I am thinking Kona would be nice, since we're celebrating our 1st anniversary & we went to Hawaii on our honeymoon)

I can't comment on Beach Club breakfast because it has been years since we've had breakfast there. I do remember that it was enjoyable. I just had breakfast at Kona a few weeks ago. Let me start by saying that Kona has always been a favorite of mine. This time the wait to be served breakfast was over an hour. We were seated and our order was taken, coffee was served about 10-14 minutes later and the food took almost 40 minutes to arrive. A couple sitting next to us returned their order twice before getting the right meal. Our waiter explained that the kitchen had recently gotten some new help and apologized several times. I don't know if it was just me, but those pineapple/macadamia nut pancakes didn't taste the same. Hopefully things have worked out since then.

We've never eaten breakfast at Kona but we LOVE the breakfast buffet at Cape May :goodvibes. Cape May is a must do for us at least once every trip ;).

I cannot comment on the Cape May bfast, but we tried Kona bfast on our last trip and really enjoyed it! The food was really good and we had fast service..just was all around great! I think it would be a great choice considering you honeymooned in Hawaii!

From other reviews, it doesn't sound like you can make a wrong choice though with either one...have fun and enjoy!! :)

We did both on our trip in February and I'd go with Cape May. The food, service and characters are fantastic. So much so that when we overslept for our Boma ADR, we went back to Cape May the very next day for breakfast again. Their breakfast pizza is wonderful!

Kona on the other hand, took forever, the service was inattentive and the food was not really that good. Even the famed tonga toast is not enough to draw us back for Kona's breakfast.

We ate there twice last year as it was such an enjoyable breakfast. Everything was wonderful. I booked twice for this year as well.

Just ate at both last week, and Kona food is better. It's not a buffet as Cape May is, but the prices are very reasonable as the portions are huge. Kona is my hubby's fav restaurant, so we've eaten here numerous times, and our service and food are always great!

We enjoy Cape May for the characters and atmosphere more than the food - there is nothing special about the food at all, as it's the same breakfast buffet food as all of the others.

Happy eating, Tiger :)
