If I'm not wrong, I thought I came across a picture of HUGE kabobs of meat being cooked on open grills. I swear the picture said Kona Cafe, but I don't see anthing on the menu that sounds like what I saw. Does anyone know what I'm talking about or am I crazy??!!

Sounds like Ohana to me. I don't recall them on the Kona menu when we ate there, but I could be wrong.

It's Ohana, right next door to Kona. They grill huge skewers of meat on an open flame.

Oh well. Thought it was Kona Cafe. Got reservations for there and was unable to get them for Ohanas. How's Kona Cafe? I never hear much about it.

Kona Cafe has wonderful food. The atmosphere is nice, but it is not a "show" restaurant as O'hana's is. Went to KC last December, we still talk about the best prime rib ever, and the garlic mashed potatoes.

We'll be going from the Ak to Mk for the Christmas Party. My family made 2 reservations. Which one would you suggest for a very pick-American food eating family?

We have them at 5:20. Perfect timing, actually. That we we can leave AK when it closes at 5 and be to MK for the Xmas party at a decent time!! I just hope the food is good!!

I really enjoyed Kona's this last trip. I had the Beef teriyaki (sp?) and DH had the Fillet Mignon. The Beef teriyaki was a 10oz sirloin that had been marinated in teriyaki sauce. It had a very nice flavor. The potatoes were awesome also

We love the food at Kona. There isn't much in the way of theming there, but the food is delicious. :)

Ate at Kona Thursday night and we all loved it. Your experience will be really awesome if you get Holly as your server...she was the best!!! We all loved our meals. Some got the pan-asian pasta and others the madacamia mahi-mahi. Perfect. Oh, and the Happiest Celebration dessert they brought me for my b'day was gorgeous! Five of us shared it...yum! Only complaint was that it was FREEZING in the restaurant..really got uncomfortable towards the end of our meal. So take a sweater, just in case. I would not hesitate to book a meal there next trip! bon appetit!

Kona is consistently on my top list. We stop at Kona every trip, sometimes once but usually 2 times during the duration of the trip. The food is consistently excellent, on par with Le Cellier but not as busy as Le Cellier.

Kona is one of my favorites. True, no particular themeing, but delicious food and a wide variety!

Another vote for Kona! One of our favorites. Low key and casual but classy and the food is fantastic.

Can't wait to eat there in February.
