I'm doing an evening of solo-resort-hopping on a Thursday in October. I have a reservation for dinner at Kona Cafe, but I'm wondering if that's necessary. I'd like to check out Kona, but I'd rather not be locked-down to a certain time. If I'm by myself, will it be pretty easy to nab a spot at the bar or a small table without a reservation?

(Or should I ditch Kona and check out Trader Sams instead? :) I could fill up on appetizers. How hard is it to get in there?)

I would stick with the reservation but do both Kona and Trader Sam's! What time is your reservation? As a solo you should be pretty good getting into Trader Sam's for either pre or post dinner drinks.

Kona reservation is at 8:15.

There is no bar at Kona per se . There is the Tambu Lounge that services both restaurants. Personally I would keep Kona for dinner.
Good Luck

We love Trader Sams. It will give you a better chance of striking up a conversation (if that interests you) than Kona.
